I recently got fed up with the halo projectors that I had. Too much bouncing that never went away, despite multiple modifications and adjustments. So I bought black crystal headlight assembly (OEM style). I would like to keep my HID so I am going to get a 9007 Bi-Xenon kit for 6000k so I can get back a functioning hi-beam. I have the switchback LEDs for the corner lamps. What I want to do is get my fogs set up yellow and keep them Halogen (or even a super bright LED, just want them to be yellow). I want to be able to turn my fogs into the DRL so that my HID do not run all the time, but still be able to turn the fogs off at night when the HID kicks in and have the fogs be the flash for the alarm system and not the HID. If at all possible, there is no reflector for the corner lamp (its all painted black) so I was hoping to wire the fogs so that they could also double as the turn signals (they would be much brighter in the daytime than the switchbacks) along with the switchback lights. I was hoping to get some feedback from people on what they thought about this setup and if it was even possible to do some of the stuff I want. I don't know too much about the wiring of everything, but I am pretty resourceful, and if I found a way that works, I could do it myself. I just don't have the experience to start playing around with it myself... Any help (or just opinions) would be AWESOME!

Does anyone even know if this is possible? I'm sure you can hook up the fogs so they take over as the DRL and blinkers, just like the corner lamps. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to pull off, I just have no clue what to start cutting and soldering.

Dze - Well my Dad did exactly what you are talking about to his Ranger. So I will ask him what all he had to do to get this done. I will post up what he said in a couple of days. I know its not the same vehicle but, it might atleast give you a starting point.

I am pretty sure BackInBlack has the write up I am looking for on his website (BACKINBLACK's Grand Prix electrical mods page...) I am going to attempt this. I also have settled on doing a Morimoto Mini Retrofit for the headlights, although I am a little nervous with all the aiming and mounting issues I might run into... I have blacked out corners with 3157 switchbacks that I love, but I recently found these that I could throw into my clear reflectors too! That would give an all white look to the headlamp assembly until I turn the blinker.

Does anyone know how I could make these 194 switchbacks work in our cars? Also, If I try this and screw up the wiring harness, what is the specific wire that I can rebuild the harness with?

Halos are toast. Sorry, but you wouldnt have wanted these anyways... Paint was coming off of trim, weather strip was torn, and both mounting brackets were busted. It was hanging on by cable ties!

    since you arent doing anything with them, fix the projectors with oem brackets from the scrappers;
your going to have to cut the stock one and use a plastic molder to bond it together, replace all part you want to beef up

next buy some weather striping and put it around your light

next since the cleat coat is peeling, wet-sand and buff/polish then then re-apply some clear coat, should work good

and the bouncing: the oem bracket would've fixed most of it, the rest can be done by making sure all the screws and bolts on the projector/bracket are tight, then there is a little mod that i am planning and it is currently a secret but will be revealed sometime in the near future, it will give off a better look and eliminate the bouncing left

and for the DRL mod (you MUST have a relay in for the lowbeams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) cut the tan wire from the DRL diode, connect a wire to the tan wire coming from the diode and run it into the engine bay, find the fog relay in your fuse box nd solder into the 30 post
now you have fog DRL and your fogs still flip on at night

now to get your highs to work with your lows in the projectors:
remember the tan wire you cut? your going to take that and make it splice into the photocell on your dash so in night mode they come on and stay on (unless the car is start with the ebrake off, they will stay off untill you realease the ebrake; oem option)
and now you lows that stay on with fogs

so now, projectors are fixed, bouncing gone, fog DRL and high beam with low beam mod

just disable the drl's by disconnecting the drl module under the dash

I was able to re-route following Backinblack's method that I linked above. It was pretty similar I think, and relatively simple. So the DRL issue is taken care of. Someone accidentally tossed the Spyder projectors I had lying in the garage, so no modifying them now... On to Retrofitting! The goal is to have, at night, completely white lights in the assembly. When the blinker turns on, the corner switchbacks (3157 and 194's) switch to yellow. I need to figure out how to create a polarity switcher for the 194 lights though. I think I almost have it. Will post when I have some time to complete. Still waiting on the projectors from TRS.

By the way, after resealing my blacked out corners, the lens fogged up a little around the RTV silicone. Is there any way to clean that off again (Potentially without removing the lens again)? it's not condensation, its almost like superglue fogging. Thanks for any help.

Anyone?? I peeled the lenses off again but I still don't know how to clean this stuff off. I can't be the only idiot this has happened too, am I?

I dont have DRL's.... was that on all GP's or just a high enough trim level?
I have auto lights and all, but no DRL's... where is this box you speak of z3r0?
