Lots of things on a car can be classified as pointless and/or stupid. For example....is your spoiler really functional? How often does one go fast enough for even "functional" ram air hoods to increase power? They're cosmetic items, nothing more. If we're going to eliminate parts that serve no purpose, we'd have some pretty stripped down looking cars cosmetically.

As to them looking stupid, that is subjective. Personally, I think the Gen 6 GPs need all the help they can get in the cosmetic enhancements department, because otherwise, they are very bland and boring looking cars. That is why I bought a Special Edition when I finally gave in and got a Gen 6. There is no way I could live with the ordinary hood, spoiler, exhaust tips, etc on these cars. Something has to give it a LITTLE style, but do it while not sticking out like a sore thumb. The Daytona/Special Ed/40th appearance package has just the right elements to me. It adds some style to the car, yet it's subtle, and matches the lines of the car perfectly (especially the spoiler, which accentuates the trunk/rear fascia way better than the universal/after market looking regular one).

Yeah the 40th spoiler is 10000000000000000000000000000000x better than the standard spoiler.

I think they flow pretty well with the lines the car Roof Rails make the car just a little different than a standard GP

Cosmetic aids: Some nice 20's, lowering springs, a bit of vinyl, a front lip and some grilles, and suddenly mom's GP = Race Car.

Oh, and I recently embarked on being the 2nd person to completely install Anni Rails on an 04 plus... Sorry about the crappy pics... This is Phase One of 2012 visual enhancements (Regenesis V 2.1)...

The day I installed them (excuse the tape)...

Saw this thread and went and snapped this pic in my car port...

Sorry forgot the 97 was the same body style...my bad. Personally I think the roof rails give the car character. I have uncles in other states that are keeping an eye out for some for me. I needed pics to show them exactly what they are. Hopefully they will find, otherwise I won't be getting them because I won't pay $200+ for them.

see roof rails look good on a gp when its had a new hood the sd lip and other visual keys. What kind of foglights do you have?

Incorrect, they just make the GP's look like ****. But some people like the **** look. To each their own.

Don't cars with roof rails need a roof rack to go with it?

these are a different kind of roof rails, mimicing what a nascar car would use. they are purely for aesthetics.

Make sure your friend uses 3M Dinoc or 3M 1080 Scotchprint... The Ebay vendor I ordered from for my roof and rails sent me 3M Scotchcal (a cheaper line of film and harder to work with) Even though they advertised it was Dinoc (boo on ebay vendor Autosportx aka Autogoody.com).. So needless to say I have to wait to do my roof until I can get the right stuff...

I just ordered a bunch of Scotchprint samples... I also have various ideas for CF wrap use on the car, some interior, but mostly exterior... I wont elaborate anything more than that at this point...LOL

One last thing for 04 plus people... Keep in mind the roof line of a 97-03 coupe/sedan is not quite the same as an 04 plus, so the rails end up being a 1/4 inch short on our cars... I wanted to put that out there before people started ripping their stock rails off expecting the net result will be instant perfection... U will have to manipulate the rails for a perfect fit or settle for a 9.5/10 as is... Just sayin.

He owns/runs the best sign/vinyl shop in the county, its 3M but I'm not sure what specific style it is but I know its solid quality, hes accented several cars and they are still perfect and he wrapped parts of his laptop and his ex's Iphone with it. He said its expensive but for the rails he wouldn't charge me(best friend perks lol), but if I did the interior pieces to match I'd have to cover the cost, but that would only be about $100 depending on how much it actually took to get it done.
