Just curious who has one and what their setup looks like also wondering how light you can get a grand prix I wouldn't think you could take more than 100lbs out

if you take out all of the interior pieces you should save a few hundred pounds, no dash, passenger seat, rear seat, door moldings, roof liner, floor carpet, speakers, spare tire, race steering wheel and drivers seat
how extreme do you want to go?
putting a cage in the car is doing the opposite of losing weight, so you're kind of going to run into issues there.
i, however, do plan to do a half cage in my car. just wrap a bar around the back of the front seats and connect it to the b-pillar and the floor below it. after that i was going to put a nice x-brace in the trunk to connect the rear shock towers. then if i felt like getting even more frisky i would make a front strut bar that also connects to the firewall to form a triangle. going even further you connect the upper portions of the frame rails on the front of the car to the middle of the lower cross beam. there are tons of ways to stiffen the chassis without adding a full cage that in most cases will be completely useless.
however, as far as gutting the interior, you could lose a couple hundred pounds. the seats are fairly heavy. removing portions of the dash may help out your goal too.
I can think of a few more things that are kinda extreme
delete the battery and boost the car every time you need to start it, will run with just the alternator
a/c delete, you won't need to be kept cool for a 1/4 mile run
no rear brakes, 16" black steel rims
I want it to still be able to drive on the street I already plan on the ac and hvac but I thought about plexi glass Windows in the back and wind shield I still want the front Windows to go up in down id like to keep two seats cause what's the point if I can't show the car off

I have gutted my interior some what and have gotten the car down to around 3000. I took out the rear seats, all the rear speakers, BUT put the rear cover back in place since it only weighs about a pound or so. Passanger seat is removed, AC delet, with everything that goes with it. Cruise control is gone. Alum sub frame up front. Rear Steel bumper support is removed, the front support has a pretty big peice cut off of it for my Frozen boost FMHE. Everything in the truck in gone that I could pull out as well.
I still have all my panels in the car, since they do not weigh a whole lot, plus it makes the car look nicer with them in place. I still have speakers in the door, so I can listen to tunes when I do drive it on the street. I have a full dash still as well. I think that is all that I can remember off the top of my head.
The only problem is, is I hope with my new build that I will dip into the low 11's, but that means I will have to put a cage in, and I will be back to where I was, with the added weight. But that is ONLY if I can get there..........
He said he swapped his steel one for the newer aluminum one.
Thank you for clearing that up................For a second I thought I missed typed.
Now that would be killer. I would think you could do it, but there is alot going on up front and a TON of torque being pulled on it, if you are racing. I think the best for now is the Alum. Subframe. I guess you could "swiss cheese" the sub frame to free up more weight. I don't recommend it, but..................
cut the trunk floor+ spare out and mount an aluminum plate for a floor section, drop the gas tank and install a 10 or so gallon fuel cell with a decent external flow pump would help with weigh, speed holes in everything
Race Battery would help with the streetable thing...
cole a main hoop with 2 down bars would be bare mininum for tech at the track? i think go 8 point like a boss
