Sean, you're on your own on this one.

Phillips bulbs are brighter when lower in kelvin.

Those super high 4800's are designed to be the brightest possible.

I agree your theory is sound, but in practice, differing quality in bulbs result in different outputs.

Sounds to me like you're not putting the rubber seals under each bulb.

Hmmm, ironically I may have a new set of headlights in the future, and they'll be nice and "clean"!! :-)

I won't argue that, that's all on the manufacturer's head. And in the end, there is no real way to say because even on GPF we have a variety of HID kits and bulbs being used.

so since there are HIDs that are the same color as stock bulbs, is there a way to get high and low beam HIDs in a plug in kit?

For 97-03 since high and low beam are on the same bulb, you can get Hi/Lo 9007 HID bulbs. For 04+ since the Hi/Lo is separate bulbs if you REALLY wanted HID highs you'd need two kits. But honestly, if you have HIDs high-beam is worthless. Not even worth paying for the Hi/Lo 9007 really...

I cant stand driving down the road and seing these blinding ass (normally blue) lights coming at me and I cant see a thing> I think its competly disrepectful, unresponsible, and getting out of control. So if I cant be a courteous driver by installing HIDs then there out of the question. Thanks

If you aim the lights correctly they don't blind on coming traffic and you don't have to get the blue ones either. I prefer the 6000's myself which are just a tad blue but look more white than the crappy yellow look of halogens. HID's are cool and look much better on the road and on the car than halogens. They are even putting them on higher end new cars now like the Challenger SRT8.

this post is all incorrect. based on the placement of the filament in the HID bulbs it is 192% impossible to aim them correctly. too low, you cant see and everyone else is blinded by the lower reflector. in the middle, you can see fine, but everyone is blinded. too high, you cant see and everyone is blinded.

do it right the first time, lay another couple hundred dollars down and do retrofits or stick with a 'nice' halogen bulb. im super sick of HID kits as well. the worst is when they are improperly aimed and installed on a lifted bro truck.

I've recently just taken out my hid headlights. I was able to see very well at night, but they were obnoxiously bright to oncoming traffic and I got flashed.......ALOT!! So I went with the silverstar ultras.....less than meh compared to hids obviously. Just got pulled over the other night cuz I was driving with only my fogs on (still hid), I didn't even realize my headlights weren't on. Lol felt like an idiot, but made me realize how much halogens suck! Lol can't wait to get retros!

I agree the projector route is the best of both worlds but I've driven past our GTP (head on) and I'm not blinded at all. We have never had anybody even flash their brights. We have 35 watt 8000's in the OEM replacement headlights and fogs. I drive a 2010 Terrain with projectors in both the headlights and fogs and I've had people flash their brights at me a few times LOL
