Before anyone tells me to, I've already tried the search function and I've read plenty of pages on HID's but still am a bit fuzzy on a few things so if you could help me I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

So to start off I'm needing new foglight bulbs and figured while I'm getting some I might as well get HID's for something a little bit brighter. I thought that 5000k or maybe 6000k would be fairly decent, but somebody please tell me if I'm wrong on that.
    Here are my questions:
    1. What all will I need to hook up and use HID's in my foglights? I've occasionally been running across the word "ballast" in some of the HID threads and I'm wondering what exactly this is and if I will need one......whatever it is.
    2. Will I need to somehow upgrade my stock wiring or connectors to use HID's? From what I can tell there are HID's that have a 880 style connector (the same as the junk bulbs I took out) but I'm not sure if I can just plug those directly into the stock connectors and be good to go, or if I will need to do something else first.
    3. Should I go with 35W or 55W? From the little bit I understand it's just a difference in brightness, but I really don't know if I'm right on that so if someone could clarify it I'd appreciate it.
    4. Should I get glass housings (and if so where can I get them) or should I just go with the original housings that I have and hope they don't melt? I'm hoping that I can avoid melting my original housings because I'm only going with 5000k or 6000k HID's, not some super-bright 100000k or anything.
    5. Where would you recommend I buy the bulbs at? I've been looking at DDM Tuning on this page with 880/881/898/899 etc and 5000k selected in the drop down boxes.
    6. Anything else I should know? I think with the answers to the above questions I will have everything I need to know, but by all means if I'm forgetting anything please tell me.

    Thanks.

When you buy HID's it comes with the bulbs, ballasts and wires and its a plug and play system, no upgrading of the stock wires is needed.

Dont use the stock fog houseing becuase the HID's will melt them.

Buy these. 97-03 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX ANGEL EYE FOG LIGHTS lamps 01 | eBay

As for temp or K I would go with either the 5k or 6k, the 5k will be a white light and 6k has a hint of blue. And stick with 35w.

There is a thread on here that show you how to and where to drill 2 new holes for the new fogs lights so they can fit prefect and they also take a different bulb than the stock 880.

I will try and find the thread for ya and bulb number.

Hate to be a pain like this, but from what I can tell all I would need to do is buy that kit and then get some 35W HID bulbs. I read about the kit and it says it comes with 2 different sets of 55W bulbs (one set of clear ones and one set of 55W 4300k Xenon blue ones), but I assume I could just get 35W H3 ones and use those instead.....right?

Maybe I should just buy the dayum things and figure it out myself with the wires and such in front of me instead of asking 25,000 questions.....

I've got 5000k in my stock fog lights, and no melting yet. My old GP melted like crazy, like melted to the bumper crazy. But I had cheapo hid's then and my new ones are from vvme.com and they havent melted yet.... not even a sign of it. I guess it's a risk, unless you get the glass aftermarket ones.

The bulbs that come with those fog lights are standard halogen and will not work with an HID kit.

If you want to use HID's in those foglights you'll need H3C bulbs, not the standard H3 bulbs. (this is because the H3's will not fit in the allotted space and H3C's are much smaller)

You can keep the bulbs that they come with as back ups. Also replace the screws that come with the foglights with non rusting ones. I have these foglights on my car so I've went through all these problems.

Ok, so if I've got this right I could get this kit (the one on Ebay) and then just get H3C bulbs (like these H3C's that I found HERE on vvme.com) and be good to go since they already come with the glass housings (which means I wouldn't have to worry about melting anything).

Or, I could get a HID kit without the housings and just use my stock ones. I found this kit on vvme.com that, from what I understand, comes with everything I will need to hook them up and be good to go....including H3C 6000k bulbs, but doesn't come with housings.

Assuming I've got everything figured out, I'm leaning towards the first option.

DO you already have a complete HID kit? Why would you only buy just the H3c bulbs? You need the ballasts and relay harness also.

Get your choice of the first three (do not pick the 4th option) Search Results : VVME.COM, Tattoo Kit, Xenon HID Kit, DVR Surveillance System & Projector

    and get this:
Relay Harness For Single Beam HID Kit Wholesale cheap HID Relay Harness Harness Wiring Headlight HarnessFor Single Beam HID Kit [VVME-HRHSB] - $9.99 : VVME.COM, Tattoo Kit, Xenon HID Kit, DVR Surveillance System & Projector

Then buy the housings on Ebay and you're good to go.
