Alright like the title implies, I just made a custom mesh grille using the outside rim of the stock grille and dremmeling out the inside. It took in all about 5 or 6 hours of straight prying away at the damn expanded metal (note to self: think first about the gauge metal you are getting; I used 16 gauge and had to use the sawzall to cut through that crap. I'm posting to see what you guys think if I should leave it that metal silver color or paint it black so the notches that I couldn't do anything about would blend in? Sorry for the bad pictures, my phone is awful.

    update: got it painted

I went to Ace Hardware. It was the Boltmaster 16 gauge 1/2in diamond cut expanded steel and was a 14in by 30in or very close to that. I would just a thinner or weaker steel lol. This crap will stop bullets from hitting the radiator hah.

Well I was thinkink if I went black then I could go for more of a GSX knockoff look and slap a nice GSX badge on there or some sort of badge.

i don't really care what others think about the badging too. Really would put a gsx badge on the grille if I could actually find one. Those things sell so fast and for so much with the regal guys. Honestly, if your mods add up to it I don't see why not but thats just my taste.

i like it the way it is! maybe take some silver touch up paint and paint the pattern into the black tabs. a buick emblem would look cool in the middle too.

lol i've been patient and the cheapest over the past year is 90 on ebay. And yes I think the actual gsx/lsx grille looks better but you can't beat $10 dollars in parts and a little bit of handy work and patience to get things right. I think I'm going black with it tonight. I'll post up some pics when I'm done with it.

I got it painted and finished and the car are detailed up. I'll post some pictures when I get home today from work. It looks pretty bad-ass IMO but needs something to it like a badge of some sort.
