OK waht are the questions???
I ran 880 HID's in my set up for a while then
I converted to H3's HID's
I bought the projector foglights from ebay and then the H3 HID kit from VVME.com I don't think theres much of an advantage of H3 setup other than it's just a smaller bulb, but it does great I bought the H3 bulb HID kit in 4300K and I just drive around everynight all night with just my foglights on. It's freakin sweet
TNTSS,
Why did you convert to H3 HIDs? Are you still running stock Foglight housings? If not, what are you running? How hard were they to install and got pics?
not liking the way you stock 880's look in HID?Why did you convert to H3 HIDs? Are you still running stock Foglight housings? If not, what are you running? How hard were they to install and got pics?
Hell No, they look great and most importantly they match my headlight perfectly IMO. :-) I wish I would of done the 880 HIDs first before wasting my money on countless blueish blubs to try and match true HIDs. I'm just curious if anyone else runs them, i'm surprised i'm one of the few that does.
I actully have a clean set of capsules I plan on swapping here in a bit, mine are showing there age (160,000 miles). Although if I could find an aftermarket set that would work with the 880s I may go that route too. The 03 Limited Ed GPs had nice housings but there $100 a piece new! They do look good though...

I've got 6000k HIDs for my low beams and I plan to put in some Silverstars to my fogs to give them a similar appearance. Now worth it to install another set of ballasts just for fogs, IMO.
Silverstars won't even come close to HIDs 6k, trust me, It was the first set I tried!
My 6K HIDs headlight w/ Silverstar 880 literally made the Silverstar look like yellow piss, seriously. Don't waste your money on those. You can get closer with other blubs.
I refuse to buy "blue" bulbs so I guess I'll either one day buy the HIDs or just leave my fogs off.
But I miss the look of my car with the fogs on.As it is, I only use them when coming on base at night (when I turn my HIDs off).
My best advice, get blue foglight blubs from an accessory shop or ricer shop and try them out. Honestly though, my HIDs made everything look like piss. I tried blubs that claimed to be 8K HID equivilent which was BS.
I wasted my money and the best advice I can give anyone is... you ain't going to match it that great and if you want it perfect, get the same HID rating for your fogs. Thats the only right way IMO. For the money I wasted on getting wannabe HID blubs I could of damn near bought the HID fogs in the first place. HID kits are cheap nowadays, you can get cheap deals on Ebay if you want to save money. Personally, I bought all my HID stuff from WBS.
Yeah, I missed my fogs too. Thats why I had to pretty much get another HID kit. It sucked at the time but you honestly can't beat the light output and the looks too in the end.
If I had to do it over again, I would of bought the HID 880 kit and the 9007 kit at the same time and I would of never dicked with trying out HID wannabe blubs. I would of saved over $100 I bet if I would of done this in the first place!
I got my HIDs for my truck, wife's car, brother in-laws cars....from DDMtuning.com. Their kits are priced cheap, but good quality. Only problem I ever had with them was in my truck and that was my fault. I didn't have the ground hooked up good when I put new headlights in and remounted my ballasts. I will be placing an order for headlight and foglight kits for the GTP this week, now that I have it on the road. I'm running stock 880 foglights.

Why the hell did a 3 year old thread just suddenly come alive with people answering the OP's question?
