I have high temp split wire-looming. It was also on all the wires under the engine too (knock sensor wires, oil temp sensor etc)

    Bentley-Harris Convoshield™ AL Thermal Sleeving

Not the cheapest in the world, but when I demodded, it still looked brand-new, so I let a buddy of mine take it all for his TA. Stuff holds up, just make sure to run the tubing over the wires to get exact measurements

It's not too bad, and it does hold up well. Had 1 piece touching the header for god knows how long. it was a little melted and discolored, but wasn't burned through and all the wires were in good order.

I say forget paint and just polish it. Everyone and thier momma paints these things without realizing the paint acts like a blanket and keeps the heat from escaping. Ya know, the same people that put in a HAI and leave the bellows on FTL. Joking aside, do what ya like as long as it looks good to you.

Not too sure that the paint holding the heat in is a huge deal when the rotors spinning at 212-12 bajillion rpms creates so much heat, and is forced into the LIM.

    Plus polishing is hard.

And the "bellows" didnt stay on long, ended up running a flex-pipe with the IAT poked through just before the TB.

Polishing is hard but its also a labor of love. True paint will not make your supercharger that much hotter but a lazer thermometer told me that painted sc's run about 5 degrees hotter than a polished one.
If your just going for 'show' then paint is not an issue but if you plan on doing something for "go" opt for the cooler choice. We all know that heat is the enemy so adding to it makes no sense to me.
Glad you dumped the bellows. I was hoping you didn't think a was baggin on your ride. Looks great and I am sure it moves like hell too.

*moved* been dead for over a year now, lord only knows where all the parts went.

Did 155+ in it once. Used to spin the tires a little shifting into second on good tires.. made me happy.

I agree, heat is the enemy, but black just looks oh so much better. (not really, a polished blower is sex)

Main thing is to take your time and prep...prep work makes for a good paint job. Just ported my blower yesterday, so I figured I go ahead and paint the s/c and snout while it was off and apart...

I think it looks alright with the color scheme i have going. Porting sure makes a difference.....

looks good but now you need to polish the middle piece to a mirror finish.

1997 GTP . repainted in jet black with blue pearl. rebuilt motor
with vs cam ported heads and blower.
