Ok guys here's the thing, I've got a spare stock hood thats going on my car cause it doesnt have any rust. I'd like a ram air ws6 hood, but i have no where near enough funds for an aftermarket hood. so what im thinking is, If i found a cool enough hood scoop I might try to actually make it into looking like a stock hood, like mount it, mold it, make it functional and everything, (fyi i work in a body shop).

So with that being said, has anyone seen any cool hood scoops. I found one thats eh okish here it is

Extreme Dimensions Universal Scoop - Vortex Hood Scoop for 97-03 Pontiac Grand Prix at Andy's Auto Sport

If you see any others let me know and ill check them out, I am kinda goin for a ram air ws6 look if i could find the right scoop for it.

    Thanks guys

I also like the WS6 hood, but if I were to do it I would not have the back raised up. That would actually be pretty easy to do, bend some rings to the shape of the opening that you want in the front, cut four slits in the hood that are evenly spaced, and cut open the ends so you can raise the flaps you just cut out up. Adjust it to the angle that you want, tack weld it, heat and shape the rest to flow, maybe tack weld a few extra pieces in and then fiberglass it all smooth. Good Luck and post some pics.

hey guys I found just the part that if i go through with the hood idea, it would look AWESOME. check it out, this is the part I was searching for, ImportZX - Long Ram Air Scoop

I just gotta figure out how well it's going to mount and how to get it the most functional. But it would look killer. I also have to get the funds

Well I'm going to start on the hood project hopefully next week, I'm just waiting for the actual ws6 scoop. I'll try and get pictures up as I go along the process.

Looking good so far! Can't wait to see the finished product. A couple of my favorite GPs had that style hood. Thumbs up from me!!

Not to mention, I'm kinda partial to Silver GPs with hash marks.

thats awesome, yeah I cant wait to get it in the booth either. I've only spent 260 on the whole thing, so it's not too much, but monteman can vouche there's been tons of body work and sanding, so it'll be worth it all when its done

I also like how your vesion sits further back on hood as compared to the others that sit almost at the front of the lip. Your version gives it a cleaner look and lines that run down the front of the scroops really looks great!!

I cant wait to see it with a nice coat of paint on it!

    Good job sir.

Hey everyone, just thought I'd let you all know that the ram air hood project is done as well as the front bumper and trunk lock shave projects. Everything is on the car except the hood, that'll be monday's project. Here's the pics of everything.

Let me know what you guys think!!!!
