The factory blue fog lights are also H3 bulbs and were brighter than my factory headlights... then I put in HIDs and now it's reversed
Get the one's that I posted on the first page that area about $30. Those would be an alternative to the factory GM one's.
As SeanGTP stated, the Limited Edition came in white, black, blue and silver with matching lower front and rear fascias (not silver like on other Grand Prix'). They were available on either a GT or GTP. The interior was 2-tone dark graphite/charcoal gray leather and silver cloth with a white faced gauge cluster overlay. The exterior got the LE specific spoiler, blue tinted fog lights and badges, as well as the same dual twin-tips and multi-spoke chrome wheels (optional; torque stars was the other option) as the Daytona/Special/40th Anniversary Editions. I'll scan my brochure when I get a chance. In fact, I want to do a thorough, detailed write up for all the rarer edition GPs so there's one common place that contains all the info we know about them.
As for your dilemma, I'd just pick up a cheap set of regular GP fog lights to get you by for now till you come across someone selling the LE specific ones.
I did pretty much the same mods as jose, to put aftermarket blues back in my GPLE after finding out the price from GM, even with a discount through the Parts store I work at I wasn't going to pay that much for GM lights. The studs on my mounting brackets were to rusted and broke when I did mine, but a few hours making some plates and mocking them up, it was actually pretty easy to fit the after market lights in. Plus I went a step further and cut the plugs off the old lights and wired those on to the aftermarket lights to keep my same factory switch and function.
The lights are from optilux. Optilux 1372 gm purchased the lights from them when they made the 03 limited editions and made their own harness. You can purchase one from them And wire the harness back up
