Okay.. here are the autopia aftermarket H3 fog lights:
Notice there is a reflector in front of the bulb:
H3 bulb sits inside behind the metal shield:
Not too much clearance for an HID bulb due to the HID bulb having a long back.. The shield is needed also because that's how the fog light mounts..
Autozone Fog Lights (no reflector in front of the bulb):
The mounting for this fog light is separate than the H3 bulb, so we cna probably have the H3 HID bulb stick out of there.

The clear lens is a mix between plexi and glass.. it will definitely stand up to HID's.
The blue lens is pure glass... That will also stand up to HID's... but it's glass.. so it can shatter if a rock hits it. My brother's broke..

I just bought some similar to the second ones you posted with the slight blue tint on them. I'll be putting them in tomorrow and I'll get HID's for them as soon as I can get some extra cash.

They make two kinds at autozone.. one of them has strobes and blue halos.. but is a smaller version. As in it's not the stock diameter.
They make a bigger one with the blue tint to em.. but they don't have strobes/halos.
I tried mounting an HID bulb into the blue ones today and it's possible.. The way they mount the halogen bulb is with a little clip that is held on with a screw. This screw also holds the negative terminal (not needed with HID's). To mount the HID bulb you need to get rid of the clip (wont go around the HID bulb base) and screw the negative terminal down on top of the base of the HID bulb.. This negative terminal is what will keep the HID bulb down and secure. Yes.. it is secure this way. I tried moving it with my hand and couldn't.
I think I'm gonna go get the blue ones soon... only downside is that it's FULL GLASS. My brother had his shatter from a rock hitting them.. I've gone about a year with the autopia fog lights (First pictured) and they've been fine.. Let's hope I luck out with these blue ones.
Just a wrap up: An H3 HID bulb will fit in the blue tinted fog light capsule..

I didn't get the ones with the halos or LEDs on them. They are 4" in diameter I believe. I'll take some pictures of them tomorrow. Oh and mine are full glass too like you said hope nothing bad happens to them. (Even though they were just $35)

apparently H3C HID bulbs will fit these style housings.

I would get the H3C bulbs.. but the screws and bolts that came with the autopia fog lights are now all rusted and striped.. I basically can't do anything with these fog lights anymore.. I can't even replace the bulbs if I wanted too.Originally Posted by matt5112

Old Fog Light wires... Purple is positive, and black is negative.. Simple as that

Ok got done with the install. Here are the ones I got...
No too hard to put them in just had to get a little creative. I want it to be dark to I can see if there are any differences in output.

The backs of those are a little different then the smaller ones.. I'll have to experiment and see if I can mount the H3 HID bulb in there.

I just bought the blue autozone fogs and does anyone have any idea how to protect the glass??

the glass is think and after thousands of mile of highway driving show no chips or cracks, very pleased with them

Could you just put some protective film on them? Like the kind they put on phone screens.

I would just get two sets so if one gets cracked or broken you have a spare. If you were to integrate something in there I would think it would look silly. BUT food for thought. Install your new fog light and then get a 4.5 or what ever size our fog light cavity is and make a small slit in the side of the cavity and slide the piece of plexi glass in. Then seal it with something. Just an Idea for ya wark.
