Whats the downfalls to installing HId slim ballast kits into the stock housing of a grand prix? Other than price and cops, whats the main issues?

PRICE: same as silverstars, mine were $44 shipped (a little more for slim ballasts)
HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

COPS: if 55 watts or under and aimed correctly they should be under the radar

sooo really no cons at all

Not in the factory headlamp housings. In the fog light housings as stated thay can melt. They will not drain your battery. I always recommend you get a relay harness to have the ballasts get full power from the battery than the stock wiring.

mount them right under the HL under the edge of the bumper.....much better less visible spot.

i kinda like having the ballast visible, all my wires are hidden so its looks clean but it cuts down on the questions when people see the ballast with the brand on them
