Has anybody ever attempted to do their own tints if they ordered pre cut tint film? Just wondering because I know a kid who said they did and claimed it was pretty easy.

A buddy of mine works at a tint shop he's only 18 he does it pretty well but its his dad's shop so he has done it quite a bit. Most DIY jobs I seen haven't been very pleasant.

If you have never done it, then it will not turn out on your first try. It takes experience to tint windows properly, cutting and heat shrinking it to fit to the window.

I agree, the complex glass curvature and heat-shrinking are far too difficult. Though we are in the midst of a “do-it-yourself” revolution and although the cable home shows make everything look easy the real do-it-yourselfer has come to realize nothing is as easy as it looks. The same can be said for DIY window film projects. I say, leave the job to the professionals, get details about window tints at http://www.TintBuyer.com. They will provide quotations, tint law in every state and help locate the best professional tinter near your area.
