finally got the supplies and time to finish a long awaited project

    supplies:

    (3) 90* 2" pvc bends smaller end opening is exactly 52mm opening, cut off that end.
    (1) can bondo body filler, hardener, spot putty
    (1) tube of plastic epoxy gel
    (1) 60 grit coarse sanding sponge, 100 grit smoothing sponge and 320 grit primer prep sponge and 60 grit coarse sheets of sand paper.
    (1) can of filling primer, truck bed coating (truck bed by duplicolor has a slight dimple just like the stock texture and near color match of the dash and its flat black/charcoal to hide imperfections..)

first i put screws through the dash in places to hold the cut pvc rings exactly where i wanted them, then epoxied them in place and removed screws when dry. next i used duct tape to make a back plate behind the gauge cups and to close off the back of the dash's dic hole, this lets the bondo fill against something. next i mixed small amounts of bondo body filler (directions on can) and filled in the gaps and holes in excess (dont worry about using alot and making it look sloppy this will be fixed with sanding), let dry for 30 mins....take 60 grit sheets and begin removing all bumps and shaping all the bondo to a good looking shape and once you have it there take your 60 grit sanding sponge and smooth and shape further (this is along process so take your time making it perfect!) next smooth it make it a level surface with 100 grit sponge and further smooth it next with the 320 grit sponge. finally clean it free of dust. (you can use the spot putty to fill dimples or minor imperfection and LIGHTLY sand with 320 grit) next lay some primer on it let it dry sand smooth and finally lay the truck bed coating on here is the results...

now i just need a wideband!

SD slot on comp is messed up so sorry cell pics are all i got looks alot better in person with no blur

The only reason i ask is because you really should have glassed it, bondo will crack when flexed a tiny amount.

i thought of this as well and tested my mixes, when i used slightly less hardener it dried more hard/rubbery...used that mix and i tested that already and flexed it b4 paint with no issues and on top of that the truck bed coating dries to a plastic hardness

Alright cool. Was just worried because i know that when you try to pull that dash piece off it flexes most of the time.

Looks really good.. i like how the 3rd one sticks out a bit giving it some shape
hell if you need a 4th gauge move the fog switch someplace else and throw one in there!

i wanted them all to face me and clearance wise this was how it fit best i had to file some plastic under the dash a bit for the squeeze nothing major and yes it did give it nice shape esp since i wrapped it in bondo and contoured it
