I don't know what it's called,, so I'm attaching pictures.

    This. front driver's side door.

    Rear driver's side.

Is it normal to NOT have a light bulb in it? 194?
I bought bulbs thinking they were out without me knowing it, but when I opened it, no wire, no socket, nothing.

Anyone know how to run a wire with minimal splicing?

    Thanks,

It's normal. The rears don't have them, and they took them out of the fronts in the newer models (starting in 2000 IIRC). The red lens has a spot for the bulb, but no socket or wiring. If you want the clear lens, you can get them from Morad. You'll have to buy a 194 pigtail and splice it into your wiring.

    Here's a link to a 194 pigtail. It was a quick search, so I don't know if it's the cheapest you'll find.

I'm willing to do wiring.. Do you know what wire do I have to tap into? I don't think any wire that comes into the the rear doors (window switches) is related to door status.

Probably would be easiest to tap it into the dome lights, although it would take a lot of wire.

Another way would be to wire it into the door switch (senses when the door is open) so that the lights come on only when the door is open. You'd need to find someone with more electronics knowledge than me to make it work, though.
