I know, I know its whats expected of me...but hey, why not...

    Turn this:

    Into this:

(I know its not the same shifter)

    And this:

    Into this:

Finally found a company who can do it in REAL carbon fiber for a good price vs. fake hydro graphic dipped parts for the same if not higher price. Bad thing is, these parts leave the country to be done so it will take a while, but the rest of my interior parts wont be done for quite some time anyway...so there is always next year.

Yea for custom one off item.

    <-- King carbon fiber

So excited, just had to share. Be even more excited when they come back and I get to install them. I mailed them off today.

Not as mush as one would think for a hand made/laid up part exported and then imported.

But they both are no $200.00 item.

They don't want me to disclose that at the moment until after the parts are done, and they see how easy or difficult they were compared to others and can decide on a final set price to do them for for our cars.

They are used to doing BMW, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Porsche, Land Rover, Mini Cooper, and Hummer. Since they already have a GM vehicle in their line up...figured whats another one going to hurt. They agreed.

Whats with the ignorant comments that carbon fiber is rice from people? I know you were j/k though.

If its not your thing, then it isn't simple as that. Thats what makes everyones vehicle uniquely their own. There are members in the Grand Prix clubs here that have done some pretty bad things to their cars, looks bad, doesn't fit right etc. But hey, its their car to do it to. I usually wont bash what one does to their car unless they are just being stupid and looking to be obnoxious.

But I know what you kinda meant.

Emails back and forth past few days, my parts arrived safe and sound on the other side of the globe, thats always a good thing.

I approved the design for the steering wheel, shift knob is cut and dry though on what its to look like.

Made my 50% down PayPal payment, the last 50% will be made once the pictures are sent my way of the completed products.

Damn, they are easy to work with!

I'm thinking by Thanksgiving I'll have my parts back. Christmas at the latest. ;D

Got an email last night this morning, and all my parts are done. They also added some teaser pictures, and my god....they look so bad ass...I'm...I'm...almost speechless.

As soon as the final payment is sent, they ship back and I should have them in a week.

Pretty quick turn around time considering what was involved, and the distance between us. Just awesome to work with these guys from the other side of the globe.

    Well, ok, why not.

Not the best quality pictures...but you get the idea.

The production was pretty close to what I was wanting abouts.

I just told them, what ever works for you the best go for it, more carbon fiber the better.

I'll take some better pictures once they arrive and before they get installed. I might wait on the steering wheel, cause I want to do some more work to the plastic surround on the back of it before it goes on.

Then...the dash and various other interior trim parts should be done in the next month or so. Then, interior will be complete with how I have wanted it to look for the past 7 years.

Not bad for the first ever carbon fiber factory steering wheel, and performance shift knob reworked a little.

Ya for sure, they reworked the shape before the re wrapped it in leather.

I like the little bump outs above each spoke like at 3 and 9 o'clock about. Looks a lot more define and hopefully comfortable.

Final payment made just now, and parts will be in the mail tomorrow.
