i've got the same rust, and sorry to tell ya bro...it will be back before next winter. I do body work for a living so trust me on this. Theres a drip rail in there that holds water and road grime that rots that area out. What you accomplished there was patched a hole inside of contaminated metal. Without cutting out all surrounding metal (atleast 4 or so inches beyond the rusted edge) it will be back shortly. Also if your gonna do a used car lot patch job like that you atleast have to use a rust inhibitor of some kind. Even when you do a proper repair and cut it all out and patch in new steel you still ALWAYS rust proof the inside of that panel after the repair is done. Not dogging your work because it looks good and smooth for a quick job in the garage. But if anything treat the inside of that panel before it hits the road or it will bubble back up within 6 months for sure
Order up some POR-15 and coat the back side with a paint brush. It should stop it for awhile. The only other suggestion I could make is use some 36 grit or a grinder to ruff the area up. It looks kinda smooth to hold fiberglass or body filler.
I did put some rust stoper on the inside of the panels, so we'll hope it last till i get rid of the car.
