Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
I meant to say bulb not ballast. And yea i have read all the step by step processes but it just seems sorta jimmy rigged and i wanted something more conrete than that. Im more interested in just passing inspection so i think i will just go with the halogen over hid but i appreciate your help jcprix!
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Where are you in NH? I will be visiting Meredith next month...
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
I am in southern NH. Meredith is about an hour from here. Your the HID guru, whats your take on the 9007/2?
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Jimmy rigged? how politically correct. Those are a work of art! But I agree, it's not pretty, not for someone to do if they have never done that type of work before, in particular going for tilt ..it was brute force and on the fly. The bulb Alignment is critical ... at least give that a whirl. Now you know what you are getting ... or not.

9007-2 (HID low, halogen high): As long as the HID arc is in the EXACT correct position, you'll have excellent low beams. The high halogen bulb will NEVER produce usable light for high beam usage. Ever. The only reason for it's existence is for passing inspection, not light. Before ordering your 9007-2 kit, see if the seller will send you the measurements of the HID arc discharge point in reference to the mounting flange on the base. If their answer is NOT 1.75", prepare to modify something, or move on to another HID peddler. There are LOTS of them, so don't fear that you cannot find another...
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Yea inspection is really all i am worried about. And modifying the teles just seems like a pita.....
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
lots of good info. i have "gx" HID headlights on my 02' gp. what i came to find out, is your DRL's need to be disabled. when you start your vehicle, the HID is pulling a larger draw than the car is putting out. causing intermittent either side lamps to not come on or shut off at random.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
ALWAYS disable the DRL feature when using aftermarket HID kits.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
i pulled the fuse for thr DRL. but this morning, the night time light sensor was trying to turn on b/c it was a little dark. and from under my driver side down near the pedals, was a continuous clicking. i put the fuse back in. clicking stopped. what should i do to take out night sense and DRL without messing anything up??
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
ok sry to double post about same problem..but this is what i am trying to do.. i need to disable the ambient night time light sensor and DRL...this problem is driving me crazy. plz help!
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Everything you need is on my web site... ;)
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
alrite black. thx for ur help..imma have to check ur site after i get off work...this internet filter is crazy. i hate stereo shops!
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
I know there is a post about the drl but the easy version is pop open your fuse panel access door in the drivers side door and if you look down and to the left through the hole you will see a silverish box with a plug in it. It is mounted on the left kickpanel. Unplug is and drl will be disabled. As fast as the light sensor just unplug it and i think the default is the lights will be off. It is the little dome bulb looking thing sticking out of the middle of your dash. Pop it out and unplug it.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
^^^ Unplugging the photodiode/photoresistor will turn the automatic lights on all the time. See my web site for the fix for that if you cannot just simply pull out the DRL fuse and disable both the DRLs and Twilight Sentinel (auto) headlamps.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
hey black, what should i use as fog lights? im thinkin bout a conversion kit. not sure though..possibly just use haolgens with the blue coloring? can not find a bulb like that...idea?
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***

Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Your picture doesnt really show your fogs are bright yellow. When i do my HID im going to do the purple 12000K and i want hyper yellow fogs but i also cant find bulbs. I want like bright bright yellow without doing hid fogs. Idk....
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
Oh and yea sorry about previous post i knew the drl you could unplug the diode near the fuse block but i didnt know the default without the light sensor kept them on for the automatic portion. Personally i like the automatic light sensor but i hate the drl so the drl is as far as i got.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
The camera does not show the yellow for what it is. I'll try and take some more photos later and see what I can do about color correction. The HID output just saturates the CCD.
Re: *** Ultimate HID thread ***
my hids are like the same color as yours black. i want to get some pics up soon....procrastination
