Just got my 00 Daytona/SE/40th Anny (whatever you want to call it) hood today. It came off of a 00 Pace Car. Has light damage at the front.

How much do you guys think it would cost to have the damage fixed and the hood painted bright red??

Just a rough estimate or anything would be helpful.

    Thanks

sounds about right for a production type place (talk to a body guy and see if he does work on the side and it will be cheaper usually)

If you already have your stock red hood consider painting the scoops and transferring them to it. There is a "write-up" on here or CGP concerning just that. I'll look it up tomorrow when I have time if someone else hasn't gotten it by then. Just something to look into. Good luck.

Sorry, forgot to come back with the link. In case you were interested in the process involved here is the write-up for installing the heat extractors in a non-SE, 40th, Daytona hood.

that hood might not be fixable do to the fact its on the leading edge and is a body seam when closed. take the hood to a body shop and have it checked and go from there

The guy I talked to told me to put it on the car, and bring it to him and he will do the work while its on the car. I don't really know a lot about body work. But I've dealt with him in the past, and I trust that he knows what he's talkin about.

But if I cant fix it, I might just try and cut the holes in my red hood. I'll let you guys know. But thanks for the info.

I wouldn't transfer that way you can sell your stock hood. Just paint and fix that way you will have two hoods
