Clay barring makes a MASSIVE difference. Even if you don't have a buffer to polish afterward it will still make an amazing difference. After clay barring my paint was smoother than 90% of the brand new cars I see at the dealership I work at. I love it.

Yes normally somewhere like that normally will just sell a kit with two small clay bars, a detailing spray, and a microfiber cloth.

Shiny. I claybar'd my car a couple of years ago right after I first got it, I've kept it so clean that when I did it again this past summer I didn't get a thing off of the car. Anal much?

Clay wont do much for the circles, which are called swirl marks. What it will do is take all the chit out of your paint that a normal hand wash won't...just a tip...wash the car with dawn before you clay. It breaks down the old wax and stuff that's already on it.
Then clay and wash again with an actual car soap...dry it and wax it. Or if you wanna get the swirls out get a buffer and have at it.....but be extremely careful because you can burn through your paint in a matter of seconds. If your serious about getting the swirls out go to the junkyard and buy a spoiler or something to practice on so you dont eff up your car.

To help clear up confusion about what claying does. See all the little specks in your paint? Feel how rough your paint feels? Clay baring will remove all of that. It will also help bring a lot of your color and brightness back to your paint.
