I wouldn't recommend getting them for the 3rd brake light. I've also heard that the cruise control won't work (GM's way of telling you the bulb is out, similar to hyperflash for the turn signals).

Also, and more importantly, LED's are directional. They won't fill the housing like a filament bulb, and in our CHMSL will be much harder to see.

    Other hints:
Get red LED's for behind red lenses (tail lights, etc). They'll be brighter than white LED's, and the white LED's will look slightly pink behind the red lens.

Where do you plan on mounting the 12" strip for the 3rd reverse light?

yes i understand, i ordered the brake lights with 63 leds and in red, for the 12" white strip im not 100% sure yet but i want it hidden until its lit, and the led flaher is on its why from autoilumination.com i heard there really good

I have JamStrait & Putco 360 LED Bulbs in my 2004. For my setup, I have a 4 diode LED from JamStrait as the Sidemarker Bulbs. Then the Brake & Running Lights are 360 Towers from Putco. My Back-up/Reverse Lights are 360 Towers from Putco. The Blinkers needed 1 load equalizer for each bulb, so that came from Putco and was attached to the (going by memory here) red power wire & yellow signal wire.

Here are the links for the bulbs I have Installed. I can post some pictures if you want, overall they work very nice. I'm quite happy but caution, the load resister gets very very hott, it actually melted through my original tie-wraps.

Also, where did you mount the load resistor? If it melted through zip ties aren't you concerned it will damage something in your car because of the heat?

Since the Putco resistors have rather short wires (maybe 3in) it is strung up between where the wires & screws are. I put tie wraps around the wires connecting to the resisitor cause those don't get really hot at all, it's just the metal on the resistor that gets hot. I bought some engine shielding that can take high temperatures and put it around the resistor over the weekend, I'm pretty sure it will work fine for the long run.
