Its real, and I own the kit on my car. But I am having a new dash made this winter...so lets just say...it will be awesome!
I like the kit I bought, 100% happy with it. I have had it since 2001.

LOL, no didn't fool me. Nor does the PFYC "ultimate dash". Though, they look good, cant hide the fact its fake. Many who want the look of carbon fiber, and can sacriface it not being real, and are only after the "neat factor" and not the "coolness factor" turn to the same method as how the ultimate dash is done for their choice of finish. This finish can fool folks who work with real carbon.
Its called Hydrographics. You can send this company your parts, and they will dip them to get the look of carbon fiber.

For my new ONE OFF PRODUCTION dash, it will be a stock OEM dash, modified for my triple after market gauges where the D.I.C. used to be, then have a REAL carbon fiber laminate over it using 2x2 twill pattern, the best looking twill IMO. Here is a teaser of what it will look like:
This was the interior shot of the prototype Richard Petty Grand Prix GTP that never became a production car.Thats sad..cause this car was bad ass. Only one ever made, and it was sold a year or so ago for around $10K. I was talking very closely with the owner and the guy who built it in hopes he would be able to bring it to the BGPM last year, but about 3 months before the event, it was sold.
My current dash will be sold on ebay probably.
Here is a method thats been used before on how to "paint carbon fiber" as many have done it with the sheet rock fiberglass tape, but using this mesh, you can get the 3D effect much better. See the how to here:
YouTube - Twisted1.org How to mimmic Carbon fiber with spray paint
and a slightly better video:
YouTube - how to airbrush CARBON FIBER!
...and this guy does some amazing airbrush work. I have seen him on the Speed channel before a few times doing vehicles.

let me know hwen u ebay it
Very correct, this is a cool process and anyone that has seen real carbon fiber upclose for more than a few seconds would be able to see the slight differences, like the real ones always have slight imperfections, but on a budget and as a pure appearance mod it is decent....
For those of us that aren't as tallented as your self (I realy do mean that as a compliment, not sarcasm, you get/make some realy cool stuff)
That sucks I've had Canepa's # sitting on my desk now for a year or two and never got to actually calling them about the Petty car for sale. This was the interior shot of the prototype Richard Petty Grand Prix GTP that never became a production car. Thats sad..cause this car was bad ass. Only one ever made, and it was sold a year or so ago for around $10K. I was talking very closely with the owner and the guy who built it in hopes he would be able to bring it to the BGPM last year, but about 3 months before the event, it was sold
^They called me.
Asking...but knowing I wouldn't by it. Just being nice I guess. It was sold at Barret Jacksons, and it met the reserve price of $10,000.00.
Just wish I knew where it ended up...and if the new owner plans to ever take it to shows, and events.

has anybody got anymore pics? I am just curious as to what else it had done to it.
Few pictures.
You can see them here:

I have additional ones save in my photo bucket account. But I don't know if he wants those posted on the web or not, so the site will be all you see form me.

Love everything but the trim around the grills.
Actually, it is for sale... Asking price $75,000.00 Originally $125,000 to $150,000 invested in it and one of the reasons Richard Petty left Pontiac after orders were placed and Pontiac dropped the program.
It was supposed to sell to a woman who's husband was in Iraq for a present for her husband, but it was more than they were looking for. Would be a nice car to have and quite rare, but I couldn't pony up that kind of money. That would have been a collection GPX, SoLo, Petty, G8. If I was rich.
