I know I am probably opening a huge can of ego worms here, but I would like to have someone help me with a tune for my turbo build.. Guess I am looking for someone to make me a base tune from which to work from since I am pretty new to the tuning arena and what needs to be changed for a turbo build as well.. I need reliability, not a ragged edge, squeeze every last HP out of my build tune.. Car is going to be somewhat of a DD car, also doing shows etc.. Not a track/dyno queen. SO all that being said, who would you suggest to help me with a tune?? And anyone willing to do that for me I guess would be the next q. I have a DHP tuner.. will get into build specifics with whoever I decide to go with. If you have been around my posts enough, you can probably tell most of my build anyway. Thanks in advance. Going to be a while before I am ready to turn the key so not a time pressured thing.. Just want to get my ducks in a row so to speak. Still building the transmission currently. Motor is done, lots of wiring and plumbing to do once the powertrain is in..

luckily, tuning a turbo setup doesnt really require anything... stock timing works really good unless you are trying to run an exotic fuel. AFR is usually pretty close stock.

You aren't that far from CT. Nick is an excellent tuner. People can bash him all they want, for whatever reason they want, but he is a gdamn good tuner. Not sure when you are planning on having your car back on the road, but a few of us are gonna do a dyno day pretty soon, and im sure he would street tune, then dyno tune it for you.
My car has never run better. with my old setup, we pushed it as far as we could safely. and when i wanted him to leave it like that, he backed it off just a little, for safety reasons. No matter how much i argue with him LOL. And now we are doing my twin charge tune and i am equally happy with the results.... cant wait for dyno day

I can't wait to get my turbo installed, maybe y'all have more on turbo tuning by then (a couple weeks). Besides changing for the injectors, anything else need done right off the bat?

What are you doing with your MAF? You will probably need to change something there too, unless you are leaving it stock.

Until I get my built tranny installed in a few months I'll be running low boost. I have a modified MAF coming with the kit. I'll be using stock until I need the upgraded MAF. I have access to my N*\LQ4 set up I was going to run but I heard stock was better for turbo.

stock is better for turbo. When you max it out you will need to put a new maf table in, but its usually not that hard to figure out.

I will have a fixed AFC from ZZP on hand and waiting. The MAF coming with the kit is a "Matt M. Modified MAF", should I use that or the AFC with new table? Also, is the ported L36 (or L67) TB worth the $150?

    thanks guys

I use modded mafs and afcs, I like both.

Porting the TB is going to cause more problems than help.

He'll no am I going to pay for problems! Guess I'll stick with the stock TB and only use the AFC if the MAF is damaged.

    Thanks y'all...

Despite what many people say about him.. Nick, SlowSho, SnowFlake, and whatever other usernames he may and probably does have... Is a very good tuner. He's helped me out on a few occasions with my tune and I have no regrets. In fact, I need to hit him up again once I throw my 60# injectors in. Too bad I'm such a procrastinator. But yes, Nick definitely knows what he's doing.

X3 on Nick. He tuned my 3.1 Gen V/NIC setup and it runs great. I doubt I'll let anyone else tune it. When I move to Vegas, I'll ship my PCM's to him. Lulz
