Hello y'all, my T67 has an intermittent oil leak into the exhaust (only smokes once warmed up and during idle, at least that's when I see it). It's probably the rear seal, so I've been told. I checked and the rebuild will run $450 from J's Pop Shop. I'm looking at just buying a replacement Holset turbo. What's y'alls opinions? I just don't like my car smoking, I hate it!

    TIA,
    Slim

If I do upgrade, I'd look at ball bearing type. Thoughts?

My vote would be to rebuild yourself for under $100.....rebalanced and all.

Holset turbos are not always direct fit....so to use them your current hot side pipes usually have to be modified. Just a thought....

My T67 still leaked after rebuild by precision. Going to another turbo will probably be annoying, and potentially more expensive.

A rebuild + shipping at PT is around $200.
