I started installing my L36 upper intake manifold yesterday, and when I tried to hook up the vacuum line that connects the manifold to the brake booster, the L67 fuel rail got in the way. the angle of the barb was bad, so it would hit against the bottom of the fuel rail and not connect. I'm thinking an L36 fuel rail will fix the problem, but was wondering if you guys have any other suggestions. Is there a different barb I can use to get it connected?

**** man your probably looking at cutting it and Jbquicking a threadin brass barb to come straight out or up.
I know there are the early and late ones, early having the 1/4" nipple for the HVAC vacuum supply (non digital HVAC cars) but both had the hose at about 45*

its a 3800...just rig it and we'll all dig it

I took some pics of how my l26 upper is done albeit I have fuel logs on it now. It has a brass barb tapped and threaded into the port, comes out straight. Well my phone lost the pics I took, I will try to get some tomorrow again. Here is one of the outside of the intake, you can see the barb fitting sticking straight out of the manifold. HTH.

that's what I did. I cut the tabs off and stuck it in the hole at a different angle, and used copper rtv to seal it off. I left the o ring on and felt it lock into place when I pushed it in.

You might need to get injector spacers. The l36 rail won't work unless you plug the injector holes on the l67 heads.

I plugged the holes already. Used a 3/8 npt tap and some brass plugs. Also plugged the coolant holes and opened up the passage

I was gonna tinker on my turbo build tomorrow, and just realized that I hadn't thought too much about the injector holes on the in take. So, this is what you did? Tapped it with a 3/8 pipe tap and call it good?

3/8" tap. The welding expert said it would be a pain in the ass. Use a 37/64 or 9/16 drill to prep the holes.

We used an impact to tap the holes so it wouldn't take 2 hours

Another thing you could do if you are using an l67 fuel rail is drill a hole and tap it so you bolt the corner of the real down. L36 has one different mounting bolt

Do you know if they will have enough clearance for the vacuum barb on the bottom of the upper intake manifold? The angle of the stock vacuum barb doesn't jive with the stock rails

I should have mentioned, using an F-body intake setup, so I'm not sure what the clearances are. It's more of a winter tinker project so far, so who knows what we're gonna run into.
