Just finished tuning the new turbo on my 26 X 10.5 X 16 MT ET street tires...
Unreal, 22.5 psi of boost light up the tires bad till 3rd gear shift. Beautiful turbo sound, definately runs better.
Very little lag... At 4K it's instant boost.
With the same setup I used to flash to 5.5K now flash to 6.3K new the rev limiter on 2nd gear roll on sticky ET street tires.
Pulls really hard, for sure it is much faster.
Nice i run a 6466.

It's just the perfect turbo for street/drag combo. The GTX3076 was an awesome street turbo, so much fun, instant boost at any RPM.
The 6262 requires a little RPM to get going. Since I have little traction, lag isn't noticeable as I just smoke the tires near the rev limit at any speed in 2nd gear.
But if I had more traction, lag would be more noticeable for sure.
I just looked at my logs and the GTX spools much quicker and harder.

Maybe he wants to teach me how much quicker his car is with his bigger turbo. I'd love to know if a larger turbo will allow a quicker ET in a similar car.
Lets say he runs 11.2 @ 132 mph full weight (nothing removed) and still has NO lag... I will be impressed. I'm no dummy.
But I know there is no way his car doesn't lag.
I'm not one to claim I was full weight and say I run these times. I could have easily hidden this from you guys, but I don't believe in BSing people. That kind of stuff comes around.
I put my cards on the table. I'm not even sure I have 600lbs out, between 500-600lbs I would say. But I could removed another 500lbs if I decide to spend money on the car.
Some put money in the drivetrain, some in the chassis. I put nothing in both except of course for the turbo kit and free weight reduction.
I have an 04 GTP daily driver. My 07 GT is now turbo and is going to be a true fully streetable car but just a little weight removed that does not affect my confort...
This parts car has little value, but I'm getting a kick out of the fun factor for the money.
I can tell you that my car, his car, and anyone else's car that's posted in this thread would be slower with a smaller turbo on it.
My 67 is actually a little small... I could run a 76 with some custom turbo headers, spool just as fast and make another 100whp on the same boost.
Don't compare a DINOSAUR of a turbo like the T67 to a GTX3076. It can support more HP while spooling WAY WAY quicker.Quote:

Regardless, a bigger turbo is more efficient. It flows more volume of air at lower temperatures at the same boost levels as a smaller turbo.
The IATs on my setup are 20-30* above ambient... at 24psi.
Your little gt30 turbo would be entirely out of breath and spitting fire.
And with a properly spec'd cam, good exhaust, and tuning... the 67 spools instantly. Likely just as quick as the gt30 on your setup.
GT30, turbine side yes. But a GTX3076 wheel ain't that small check the compressor map...Quote:

But it was getting choked on the turbine side which is why I didn't push it, the converter is slipping so again why I didn't raise the boost.
We'll go out one last time, see if the trans survives.
That turbo has a 58mm compressor wheel... My setup wouldn't even be on that compressor map.
You're worried about spooling but we drive automatic cars and once it's spooled it stays spooled throughout the run.
I stand by my original statement... any one of us would have a slower car if we ran smaller turbos.
We don't run 50psi of boost, if you're making any power at all on our motors you're off the right side of that chart, not the top.

26 X 10.5 X 16" ET street is pretty much a slick with a slightly stiffer sidewall and I light them up to 90mph.
Don't get me wrong, while I light them up I'm still adding multiple bus lengths on a 14 second car in just a few seconds (chase car behind my car when I'm tuning)
it's not like I spin and do go anywhere, it spins but goes hard. But it's nowhere near the traction I get at the track with true slicks MT of the same size.
I only have an old dino Stattama mutt of a T67... makes for ok power I think, and no real problem with spooling I'd like to think.
Still haven't gotten close to maxing it out yet. I should be able to dip into the 9's with it. Car as it sits is a little over 3000 lbs.
Need to reweigh it as we took at a little more when it was like 3010... but then added a cage which was like 75lbs i think guy said.
Now... my big retarded new Precision turbo .. that is a whole another story and interesting to see how many novels I can read while
spooling.. ;)
Its not a particularly efficient turbo but it works just fine as you shown. I want your trans !!
