But with a new car you're paying for new car things. Blue Tooth, Navi, Amazing Seats, Newer more refined transmissions, Newer electronics, General body styling, Suspension components. This si what makes the price of teh car, not entirely the engine. Take a 00 stang shell, throw the coyote in it then you got a not so expensive car with 400+ HP. I think the power of these cars are quite impressive.
So Alix0r, what does your car run in the quarter?
Ya i think the mods vs price is in my favor... i mean to put a damn supercharger in those things its like around 6k just for a SC... where as if i were to spend 6k on a turbo, cam, and tranny setup i think i could still take him lol...
Explicit.. i have never ran mine at the track actually nor dynoed it so i actually have no idea how much power im putting down or how fast she will run... im just basing my assumption on the my butt dyno lol... i mean watching his speedo and mine is completely different too lol his is slow to reach a desired mph where as mine is only a few seconds lol
... but anyway it was just kind of surprising i guess is the moral of the story lol

I think your disappointment lies in the fact that it's N/A and you're used to "high" boost levels on your 3.8 pulley. The Camaro is a dog down low, but has a good power curve. If your friend did a head/cam/intake build, I am positive that your outlook on the car would change, mostly because all you'd ever see would be tail lights.
3.0 sir lol and yes i completely agree if he where to do a head/cam/intake build it would more then change the car and the theoretical outcome... but be that as it may he is not very mechanically inclined so the only way he would do such a build would be either to pay someone to do it or have me do it lol... which i feel would never happen as like i said before he is more into appearances then performance, so i feel as though i am safe to assume i would beat him haha
I tend to agree. My wife's DD is an 02 Z28 she bought new right before graduating college. Many of my friends have 98-02 Camaro's or 00- current vettes. When the new Camaro's came out I got to go to a ride and drive event at a local track and drive them. I really wanted to like them, but was really unimpressed. Even my wife could tell they weren't all that great when she drove them. I would buy a used vette long before a new Camaro. They just don't do anything for me. I do love going to the track and watching new Camaro get walked by a 98-02. It always makes the owners so mad.
Lol idk much about new chargers or camaros but the new 5.0 mustang with slicks can pull low 12's in the qtr, takes a lot of coin to make a gtp a low 12 car and it won't be nearly as reliable.
i recently played with a newer camaro from a red light, not a full on race but just a quick pull off the line and he didn't really pull away much from me but probably would have if i stayed in it longer. Same result with a new 5.0 before headers. Just seems like those newer muscle cars have more top end then anything.
The GP with a 3.0 pulley will hold his own. By the time that guy with the 6 speed finally grabs some traction, you will be screaming 80mph on his azz.
FWD may have lots of downfalls, but having to transfer that power to the rear axle, then trying to handle that power in the Camaro, as you are watching the back end of a grocery getter running off from you in your windshield, you can expect tire spin, and by the time it grabs and gains on you, its already 110mph, you can let off the throttle and salute him as he passes, asking if he wants to try it again. This was always the best part of these cars...A 12 second Stang is at the track...it takes a guy knowing he is about to be destroyed on the street to drive it that good...and unless that owner used to have one of these GP cars...he won't be ready or expecting the can of whop azz you are about to lay on him with his 9.96 quality woman in the front seat.
Really?
Because last time I checked most of those piggy cars, with crappy torque curves, that make all high-end power...
Put down 375+ HP to the wheels stock, cut sub 2.0's 60's EASY, and can run basement 12's basically stock.
I fail to see the issue here.
Unless everyone here is bench racing or running sonny in Dad's Camaro/Mustang? Must be.
Or slowpoke. Because he's slow.
I would love to see someone in a Camaro SS or 5.0 Stang slam gears on the street at run 12's, especially when they have the attitude that the 4 door Ponti-crap beside them has a V6, and can't do ****. I have seen it time and time and time again...through the rearview mirror...you know... that "Holy crap, I better step on it" look.
So much lol in this thread.
Maybe hes slow because hes actually grumpy cat :P
