    They are not crushing the cars for racing they are crushing cars with stolen parts, ie engine, tranny ect ect...
    I personally think it is just going to make things more dangerous because more people will run if they know this is going to happen, it they are dumb enough to build the car with stolen parts then a run from the police isn't to much of a stretch. I would rather see them get charged with GTA and do a lil time instead of looking dumb for the camera and wondering what rolling chassis to buy before stealing another hotbox for running gear. Its just a publicity stunt by police, the drivers arent worried because the cars were cheap and they probably have a garage full of parts for the next one.

    HOTSHOT...you said it. Bottom line is if people are stealing parts, the only way to stop them is to do time, and pay fines. They'll make more money racing, than they lost with their stolen parts car.
