For over a year since PLX came out with the DM100 OLED 2 1/16" gauge display it was on my list of things to buy for the Cutlass. Early this year they came out with a DM200, which is a 2 3/8" slightly larger gauge, and released this with OBDII scanning ability. I was stoked! Display 4 lines of data and also interface with a PLX wideband that connects directly to it and can also display that data. These gauges are the cats' meow if you ask me and have won SEMA awards, they are just plain sweet! So I ordered one thursday after calling and asking some questions. I next day air shipped it to have it friday so I could get it in the car this weekend. Well it gets dropped off and comes with a list of viewable OBDII sensors and I was extremely dissappointed. NO KR is available nor is much of anything at all. MPH, RPM, Timing, O2 sensors, IAT, MAP, ECT are viewable and that is about the extent of it. Some other stuff is on there but does not apply to GM vehicles so is useless. I called them up and told them how unhappy I was about this since I could have just bought an Aeroforce scan gauge since KR is generally the #1 thing most people watch and it is definately nice to view at all times on a gauge that is permanently mounted. I didnt get the great feeling that this will ever be added but expressed that they are really hurting themselves without this paramter to scan. So I figured crap now what? I love the gauge itself unquestionably and will be adding on the WB to it so I didnt want to send it back just to by it again but the usefullness of this gauge is limited for must of us GM guys, especially boosted cars that need to view things like KR. I talked to him for a while about needing to add it and I am supposed to get an update on this. Last night I powered up the gauge and not having KR was the least of my worries, this thing is SWEET looking! Very bright, multi color that you can change, you can make your own gauges and reprogram the screen to about anything you want..... if you have the time lol. I will likely be selling their products as they do make great stuff but the scanner really needs some attention for our needs before I get serious about this.

Well at least someone knows how to look lol. Here is the link to what I ordered

PLX Devices Inc. - DM-100 OBD II 52mm Universal Gauge

As I found and was told by the sales/tech rep was that the ad is worded misleading.... It says " view 50 parameters" What that 50 includes is up to 32 PLX add-on modules, NOT 50 sensor values through the OBDII port.

Ouch that is high dollar for soemthing without a KR parameter. It looks like a fun gauge though, and for $400 you get a free O2 sensor

i wonder will it fit in the gauge pod cause it looks kinda big. the only thing i don't like is the cigarette plug wire. if you forgot to unplug from the cigarette socket i imagine it would drain down the battery.

I got the DM100 which is the 2 1/16" gauge so yes it will fit fine in a gauge pod. The DM200 is the larger 2 3/8" gauge that wont fit in a pod unless you have room to make the hole larger. They give you a pigtail to wire up to ignition power, the cig plug is just for temp use if you want to do it that way. Lee I didnt get the WB yet, I have to purchase the SM-AFR module which is around $200 and is the WB module and sensor and it will work with this gauge or as a standalone to hook up to a scanner cable to log with and PLX has one of the best WB out there and there is absolutely no calibrations to do ever with their setup which makes it nice to leave in the car perminantly and not have to mess with free-air calibrations every so often. The gauge is salty and in the $200 range on its own. I was pretty upset by the whole NO KR thing and am keeping my fingers crossed the do add it. I mean really.... I has FOUR cat temp data lines!!! WHO THE H*** is going to need that!!! None of us 3800 guys thats for sure! I get the feeling that the engineers are told to do what they are told to do and it isnt experienced drivers and tuners that are feeding what SHOULD be added for viewable parameters. I am hoping to lend a lot of advice and maybe if a crowd of guys started emailing them letting them know how critical view KR is that they would have more of a push to add it and many other things that the Aeroforce SG can view. If nothing else it looks sweet and matches my digital dash which is what I really was shooting for and its main use will be WB down the road.

I wished I hadn't bought the NGK AFX now. Back at the time I swore I wouldn't put a gauge pod in a car that shouldn't have one. Now that I have a gauge pod a permanent WB 52MM gauge would be nice.
