    The cars(both gas tanks on Empty):

    2002 Acura CL-S with just headers + an extra 240lb friend lol which looses me about 15hp at the crank. Generally speaking for every extra 100lb's of weight you loose 7hp!

    vs

    2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with fuel injectors, icebox intake, headers, full 3" exhaust, 3.25" or 3.45" pulley....I forget ws size he said

    First race 20mph roll-
    We are dead even up until seventy when I had to shift out of second into 3rd putting me at the bottom of the gear. We had to let off at 80mph cause of a turn and stop light ahead, but he didn't have more then a half car on me. I was suprised that I kept up so well. He said he's probly running high 13's, but I don't think so cause all I have on currently is headers.

    Second race 45mph roll
    I pull ahead cause I am in the top of 2nd, as I shift into third @ 65mph he pulls back and slowly starts to keep pulling away. By the time we get to eighty we have to shut down again He was 1 car ahead of me.

    I was very suprised I was able to keep up with him. I can't wait to run the 1/4 mile at the track with him so I can actually take advantage of my third gear and top-end. I think it will be dead even at the finish since my 3rd gear tops out @ 105mph right in Vtec. By that time I will also have my own pulley and intake.

    I dunno when we will be able to do this, but I will be sure to get this on camera

    I'll keep you guys updated ont he vid. We both agreed to take it to the track, but still need to get in touch...we are friends from highschool, but haven't really talked much since we graduated in 07. I want to wait until I can get my intake and pulley before we run again to even out the amount of mods lol

    was he tunned?? he should be in the 13's with those mods. well depending on which pulley it actually was. but with a 3.4 headers and intake. tune ofcourse. i should be into the 13's. but i have a new series and my car reacts to pulley drops a little better.

    all in all good runs tho.

    neither of us are tuned...just both gonna run bolt ons. If he plans on tuning thats means I will too lol. I'de love to lower Vtec

    This was definately the best race I've had so far and I've raced a full bolt on mazda protege mp3, toyota solara sle v6 with exhaust, 04 grand prix comp G with ram air and exhaust, and an Audi TT Vr6 stock

    well without a tune his car really aint running all that good and he is actully taking a chance of blowing his motor. you cant drop pulley sizes with out a tune. hes problew getting a lot of KR. i wouldent recemend him racing anymore till it gets tuned.

    He may be tuned. This guy and his brother know their cars pretty well....his brother has a 12 second 240sx turbo and does all his own work. He never mentioned anything to me about having a tune though. I guess if you are tuned you really don't want others to know though. He was sayin what mph and rpms were good for him though as if he might have had a tune done...

    Yeah, no joke. Many have gone that route though, most don't understand the responsibilty of boost.

    One thing I don't understand about the GTP guys mod list is injectors. Why the hell would he need those? He's nowhere near maxing out stockers with the minimal mod list. If anything, the damn thing is drowning in fuel without good tuning. Also, hope he's running a 3.4" because I can promise with that alone he's got KR and is loosing some timing. With the 3.25" double the KR and no timing at all If thats the case it could be slower than stock and he'll be getting a new engine soon.

    There are alot of people out there who don't understand tuning or know a damn thing about KR. Because they can work on one car doesn't mean they can another. I've ment many people over the years, the ones with pulley envy were replacing long blocks.

    Not dissing you or the TL man, seriously, but your friend needs to some research and learning on his car before he does much more to it. Other wise I can guarrantee he'll be having problems before long. I'm just trying to save him a $1,000+, thats all man. Take it or leave it...

    You are so right Iron Indian. Before I joined these forums, I knew nothing about these motors. Thought I did, but I was wrong. This site has taught me so much. I would have ended up f'ing up my motor and wouldn't have even known why. Suprised I hadn't already because years ago all I had was a intake, 3.4 pulley, and mufflers. I didn't know anything about KR. So now she sits in the driveway waiting to go under the knife ang be done the right way. I put around in her here and there just so it doesn't sit there.

    Well I talked to my friend last night. He bought his car modded with everything except for the injectors. He said the previous owner had tuned it and taken it to the track. He has never tracked the car or had it dynod himself.

    I'm assuming that the guy new what he was doing if he got all of those upgrades and payed for a tune.

    He claims he is pushing 330hp and 300 torque...I call BS...doubt he would even get that much to the crank. He didn't even really pull on me until I had to shift into the bottom of third and then didnt get a chance to come back in the top of my gear. What do you guys think he would be pushing to the crank and to the wheels?

    Yeah, defiantly BS. Besides, an S/C L67 usually makes more TQ before HP anyhow. I think whomever had the car fed him some bull****. Either that or he really thinks somehow its that powerful, LOL.

    I highly doubt its been tuned or dynoed honestly. I bet if he hooked up a scanner to it right now he'd been in for a rude awkaning... KR out the ass! That or its pig rich if he hooked up a wideband to it. Just because a car has a few mods doesn't mean its done right. Any idiot can throw on an intake and a 3.4", no talent needed and a half hour of your time.

    Now on race gas however that can change. I've seen minimal modded GTPs with High Octance, minimal mods, and a 3.0" run good w/ 0 KR although I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what the hell you're doing. Besides, who runs race fuel daily? Sure as hell not me!
