I have a 3rd Gen and I love it! My neck is only slightly red... and it was only on blocks for one summer... so there!
. . going out on a limb here and saying YES he does! loldo you need a driver mod?
i'm picturing power-braking til he hits the rev-limiter then letting her rip off the line!!! he'll lose but at least ther will be a small smoke show LOL
90's cars are better than just about anything out now...
and, for the OP, the ford 4.0 V6 in the 05+ mustangs take the old 5.0's stock for stock. friend of mine with said 4.0 was clicking off 14.8-15.2 quarters.
and lastly, sub'd for awesome thread
Ok so come to find out this 5.0 is a cobra n could possibly have a cam Cus it lopes its a buddy of mines he bought it from a junk yard n it has a gt body but tittle say cobra how much will that alter the race outcome
that's quite the mix and match of cavy/sunbird parts. lol. body is in nicer shape than most of them around here though.
i'd drive it if it has the 3.1.
slowbro can you explain the fox body cobra to him? didn't they all look like gts?
IMO
fb cobra > gp gtp > stock 5.0 fb
Iirc the fox cobras weren't a whole lot of an improvment over the gt's
My buddy mark had asked me what I thought n I said dude I have not the slightest clue on mustangs so I wasn't sure what's the diffrence between a gt n a cobra n just Cus its n h.o. does that make it a cobra
No it doesn't. Weren't the cobras 93's only? Where's poke he knows this stuff
if foxbody is stock, it will have lil less horse then a gtp, but the same if not more torque, and they are WAY lighter. but he could just start spinning like mad off the line if he has **** tires, but so could you. stock for stock should be close IF he's stock
if he has a few mods and fatter tires with good tread left you dont stand a chance.
if its a 94-99 4.6l, would be close race if he knows how to that fat beast of a stang(they are HEAVY.)
2000-2004 4.6L should take you everytime.
2005-2010 4.6l should walk you everytime.
just gets worse from their. go race a 2011 3.7l v6 6spd manual mustang and youll get whoopin lols

93 was the first year of the SVT cobra line up, and aside from the 93 Cobra R, it was the only "foxbody" Cobra. For comparison...
93 GT= 205hp/275trq
93 Cobra= 245hp/280trq
I might be slightly off on those numbers, but that's what I seem to remember. The increase in power was due to gt40 heads, new intake manifold, respecified cam ect.
1/4 mile reports for these cars stock range from mid 14's to low 13's. I tend to think of them as a low 14 second car.
Fixt.
The SN95 Base GT used the lower profile Thunderturd intake... Not that a '93 Cobra would be either...
OP just race the dude. If you lose, it probably wont be by a whole lot if you can launch your car well.
If I were you though, I would wait until you could get a few more bolt-ons like headers, 3.4 pulley and tune. Those would REALLY wake your car up.
