it wasn't a vr4 though. woulda got destroyed if it was lol. So basically we were followin eachother showing signs of wanting to race but there was too much traffic. so finally we reach the part of the highway where there wasn't any traffic, he gets next to me and we both look at eachother shouting "LETS GO!" so we slowed down to a 45, i gave the three honks and then punched it! i got the jump on him pretty good from that, and was able to keep him off until 75ish when i shifted to third...and since thirds a turd, he just walked me from there.
i didn't believe it myself because of the rep i heard from 3000gt's, so i did some research and came to the conclusion that it must have been a base model that made 162 hp. i talked to the guy at the next red light and he was mad cool, told me how he loved pontiacs and how he has an 89 firebird with a built 350.

No offense, but what the heck are you driving? Because 3000's are heavy cars IIRC and at 162hp that's much less that a GP GT with 200hp.

He's got a 3100 pre-gen...like a mid 90's car. The one in his signature...so it probably wasn't that bad of a match up.

    This...well...

They are all versions of the 6G72...

He must have ran the sock12V.

Because the DOHC 24 Valve...probably would have made quick work of him after 30 mph or so.

And lets not even talk about the TT...lol. 13's from the factory, stout cars.

yeah at first i was like "wow he did terrible for having 222 hp..." then i found out about the 162 hp model and concluded it MUST have been that. im sure the 222 model would make short work of a gt and maybe take a gtp in the top end.

yeah i know, but 3.8's arent that great on the top end (unless turboed) vs most foreign cars are mostly top end. i could definitely see that SL 3k gt revvin at 7-9k and still make power.

oh. lol, i was under the impression they rev higher. but still, i think it would be a decent match for a SL 3k vs a gtp stock.
