Im sure if you look long enough there's a video of an 18HP John Deere Lawn Tractor beating a Veyron, but that doesn't make the Tractor faster in reality. There's no bigger GM nutswinger than me, and even I can accept the new 5.0 is a faster car stock.
Edit: I just watched the video, and I seem to have discovered the problem- You don't know winning from losing. The 5.0 was clearly faster than the GTO, even despite the moron Ford driver's shortcomings. Your discussion of racing, and the outcomes of such is hereby revoked.
Wooo got my GXP back from the tuner. Boost and wide-band gauges + exhaust cutout switch mounted where that fake small "compartment" is forward of the shifter. My previous dyno at 5.5 lbs boost was 297 on a Mustang dyno meant for rear-wheel drive cars...hard to strap down and keep the front tires on the rollers. Got the boost up to 8 lbs now with the cutout open, ~5-6 closed according to my new guage. The tuner said he couldn't get accurate readings due to wheel spin at 5000 in 3rd so they tried 2nd. They tried weighting it down with water jugs on the hood and two people standing on the sides with the doors open, but still spun. The numbers actually read 340hp and 360tq, a gain of 43 fwhp.
For comparison, I witnessed a new Camaro with intake and exhaust upgrades put down 343 on the same dyno near 5700rpm, not as much torque though...around 325. It was also in a little warmer weather about a month ago.
The whole shop went to the Texas Mile with their assortment of boosted Vettes right after finishing up with my car. I had to go get a spare key and pick up the car in the parking lot haha. So that means I won't be able to post a scan of the dyno sheets until next week.
Sounds like a crappy dyno if they put it in a lower gear to get RID of wheelspin.
Still waiting on videos of this car...three pages later.
Did you even read the comments for the first video? What you just showed was a modded LS1 GTO beating a poorly driven 5.0...until the 5.0 got into the powerband, then the GTO let out.
I backed you before on how a STOCK LS1 GTO could beat a STOCK 5.0 if the circumstances are right (driver error). Please don't try to make this your arguement that the cars themselves are equal. Because they simply aren't.
The next video you post should be about your car, not some half azzed, pontiac sack swinging video attempting to prove the LS1 GTO's are faster cars then the new 5.0.
In for Dyno sheets, and videos myself...of your car.
^^ Of course not. New 5.0 > LS1. 412 > 350. Thanks for backing me before, but why am I restricted to what I can post? Am I not accepted into this little community after all? Just let me know and I'll leave. I don't care. I'm a part of other sites I can share with. I don't need to come on here just to be challenged on every word I post.
Of course you're welcome here, don't be silly. And I'm not challenging what you say about your car, I (like others) am just interested in seeing more of your car.
I am challenging what I thought to be your stance on the LS1 GTO, but it appears I misunderstood your intent.
That said, please don't feel as though you aren't welcome here, because you certainly are. If you're on other sites like you said, I'm sure you understand how things work. Picks/Vids/Dyno sheets...in other words proof, is something that is almost always asked for. Don't take it as a personal attack, or a challenge to your posts...think of it as invested interest.
Thanks bro. I'm trying to get my friend with a flip phone to go with me maybe Sunday or next weekend. I'm trying to set it up with that red 5.0 you see in the clips. I jumped the gun posting about dyno before proof but I was excited at the improvement last night as I was cruising it around.
Flip phone co-pilot unavailable this weekend due to family obligations. Here's a couple of short clips of the guages uploaded directly off my Sony digital camera unedited.

Update:
Had a weird night but overall winner. I set it up with the red 5.0 in the clips to meet at 10. Left my place at 9 to get a splash of fuel and head out. I get on the freeway, test it out and had no boost *gasp*. Called my friend with the flip camera up and we saw that the intercooler pipe popped off (hot side). Took us an hour and a half to let it cool down and then clamp it back on. Had to loosen the clamp on the intercooler side to get it lined up and clamped back down. There are no notches or ridges on these pipes to help the clamps stay on. Noticed it also touches the lower radiator hose ugh.
So I finally get out to the meet and everyone is gone already. I then went to another meet on the other side of Mexico where I run into a black 5.0, faster than the red one...better driver. He was on drag radials. Here's how it went.
20-roll: He got me by ~1.5 cars gap between bumpers all in the initial punch
45-roll: He got me by ~1 car gap between us...it was even on the top
45-roll sans my 300+ lb passenger: he missed a shift and it was no contest
45-roll sans pass.: walked away from him...3+ cars gap before I braked
On the last two runs I "brake-boosted". The good thing is all of these are captured on my friend's flip camera and he will be piecing all the clips together and post it on YouTube hopefully some time this week. I will post it in a new topic when it's available. This was a good strong 5.0 on drag radials with a decent driver.
is the 14.4 in ur sig your current time w/mods? Maybe i missed it? sorry
GXPs run those times stock
Alright, I couldn't upload the scans to my new album here so I put them on PhotoBucket. If you get prompted for a pwd it's "grandprixforums"

One is just power readings, one with AFR, and another with boost curve.
