Thanks for sparing us the details about how the other driver's girl smiled at you after you decimated his truck. Thus eliminating the need for us to remind you how you should have got her number. I also appreciate how you left out the part about how you were just driving along minding your own business when this Raptor flew up to you like a bat out of hell, revving at you, and trying to egg you into a race...that was refreshing.
I like the part in the story where it's quick and to the point.
Sadly my races involve little testosterone laced bantor or mutual adrenaline fueled hogwash. I don't think he really thought he'd win, since he's owned a Hemi Ram, a V8 Titan, a 5.7 Tundra, a SRT10 Crew and now the new Raptor in the time I've had my truck. He's run out of options, I told him he might as well buy a GM truck and be done with it.
I like raptors...

read, then go to ford.com and look at the advertisements when you go to purchase one.
Just when im starting to think Ford can make a good vehicle...
if you make it to like page 50ish i think there is a fix, but i dont think its a ford fix, even when ford does make a good vehicle the f*ck it up some how, like the 5.0 with the manual trans, and the raptor has had a couple of things wrong in the drive train as well
SVT says thats to be expected: SVT boss goes on record about Ford Raptor frame damage claims [w/video]
someone should have asked along time ago to have ford define "ford tough"
is like internet tough guy tough? or is it like 5 year old bully tough?
i really hate to bash on an american car company who is trying to do things right, there is just still one too mant accountants in there
Sh!t happens to all manufacturers, I just find it laughable that on average, someone shopping for a truck usually seems to default to Ford because "they build the best trucks".
IMO their trucks are the best thing they have going for them. Which may not be saying much, but still.
The Raptor is a strong truck, let's be honest about this. Ford screwed up advertising the damn thing though, thats obvious. It's limits were exaggerated. That said, not all of these bent frames happened because ford said the truck can do "this", and it couldn't. These trucks are being pushed, and pushed hard. Some of that is fords fault, some the crybaby owners who want to get 4 feet of air and land at 100+ mph and expect sh*t not to break.
Like TA said, all manufacturers make sh*t that's going to break. Some more then others...but still. I would blame the advertising campaign more then the engineers.
True that- The day I drop that kind of coin on a new truck and take it out in the dirt, much less sail it off a jump, go ahead and call the looney bin to pick me up. 400EXs are designed to jump, not a 2 1/2 ton pickup.
