Fitting an intercooler behind a catfish bumper would be dumbface.

Get a GT front bumper...snail it...get a big front mount...and keep the SE rear and run a single outlet TBE

if i turbo'd it would a gtp trans work with a regular 3.8? because im not sure if a regular trans would hold up to a turbo. well depending how much boost im getting. im not sure. but im going to have some fun next time i get my taxes done.

As long as your SE isn't a '97...your fine. The only major difference in the GT/GTP transmission from '98-'02 would be the gearing (Yours has 3.29 gears...vs. 2.93's)...and the GTP's have the Heavy Duty Differential.

    Everything else is the same.

So, if it is in good shape...I think a stock SE trans could hold a small snail build for a few passes LOL
