idk what happened but i was going down i95 on my way home.. and i had cruise control on at 65. i was in my se with the 3800, k/n filter, thats all. and a white 2 door gt rolls up next to me and the driver starts laughing. (idk why) but then he floors it, as do i, and it wouldnt accelerate fast, then as i was flooring it i switched off the cruise, and it was like nos, lol it downshifted and roared LOL i flew past him and he wasnt laughing anymore. are gt's the same as an se with the 3800 (besides the bumpers and such. ????????

That seems odd that you would beat a GT with an SE . I thought the SE had about 185 HP or something like that instead of the full 200. Either way good kill!

Now im confused.... How can you have an SE with a 3800???
It wouldn't be an SE if it had the 3800, unless thats just the appearance package associated with the car?

All 97-03 SE's had the 3800 as an option.

So then some SE's are really just appearances? But under the hood they have the heart of a GT

I removed my first post after a bit of quick research on wikipedia says that it was an option. Top swap the 3800 SE then you have a GP that even GP owners would be surprised to see go fast.

Doesn't a GT have better handling or something?

It's all in your head. Just keep you nose up when you pass by a lowly SE, and remember you are much better at life because you own a GT.

I also thought if the SE has the 3800, it says 3800 V6 on the front fender by the bumper right?

I am a believer that the SE's have the ugliest front bumper I have ever seen.

I AGREE COMPLETELY. And don't change the bumpers. They're ugly, but they scream "SLOW". So yeah.
