Just raced a subaru svx took me till about 80 to pass him. He turns off and givs thumbs up. I was just thinking cool guy. Next light a honda crx pulls up,asks me if im the supercharged one. I answer yes. He asks whats done to it, I answer nothing its a stock 162000 family car. He said its clear do I want to go again, i said sure. I killed him off he line but at 60 he went by me so fast it was crazy. He wouldve got my 97 ss camaro with it. We pulled over he said it was a b18 swap stock otherwise. he was claiming just 130 hp and there was no turbo. Is he BSing me about stock or are they that quick? Oh btw its a 99 GTP 4 door

B18's, especially if they are the Type R motor...have close to 200 to the crank stock...so ya, he lied. And get some mods done boss...a SVX is cool, not fast.

Yeah I kida figured he was BSing me. Maybe i should explain why the svx put up a good fight. I had two people with me for 1 and how the race started, I was just going home not even thinking of a race. well we just came out of an S curve rollin about 40 or so. I get up beside him and he nails it, by the time my wife says i think hes trying to race you. He had a couple cars on me by the time i was thinking why not. only people around were behind us. Thats why it took me till about 80 to pass him. I looked up the svx they have 230 hp but almost no TQ, was a nice car though.

Oh an id not be comfortable modding a car with that kinda mileage and beside i do have a camaro that runs decent. Just slp longtubes and and cat back but the cat back was stock slp. Its the 2nd yr the ss was out in the 4rth gens. so does just have the LT1 and a 6 speed. would it be safe too mod a car with almost 163000 miles? If modded right with all the supporting mods.

A basic 3.4" isn't going to do anything but net you even better MPG's if you drive it right. Granted, your gonna be in it more to hear the blower whine...which prolly won't help...but 163k on a 3800 is just a baby. There is a local who has over 240k and after he did some basic tune-up work he went right to throwin' mods at it...I think its a modded rocker, SSIC, 3.2" car now...and mileage still climbing and for sure isn't nice to it LOL. It's the one wheel burnouts and constantly beating the snot out of the car is what kills it. Plus, a basic 3.4" setup car will run 13's with a good driver.

i got a friend with a 92 civic hatch (similar to a crx in weight etc) with a fully built B18C (GSR Motor) with a turbo and he ran 11's at the track. making over 400hp.
when he had his car stock with a B18C Swap he ran 14's. at about 180hp
so he clearly lied to you LOL.
B18B engines come out of integras as well but just your normal stock integra (130-140hp), then theres GSR(180hp) and then Type R(198-200hp i think).

Ive always wanted to have a crx as a sleeper. everyone thinks there **** boxes but when u pull up and then laugh at it, dont cause it might surprise u.

YouTube - TUrbo gsr civic vs supercharged mustang EGSINZ (runs a 12 and beats a S/C Mustang)

YouTube - Turbo EG gt35r vs zo6 corvette (runs 11.57 and beats a corvette LOL)

You can make it look clean with a nice set of like 16" Rims and a lip kit, with a nice paintjob and some carbon fiber perhaps depending on the colour of the car.

Having said that. a girl wont wanna get in that hahah.
they rather get in a Grand Prix such as mine with the 2 tone burgundy/cherry and black leather :P . just classssy

Can't beat 40th interior once they see the two tone seats with the stitched emblem encased in that dark cherry metallic shine they start wondering why it suddenly feels as though they just got hit in the pants with a water balloon

I have a 93 civic hatch with a k20 now, but when i had a gsr i ran 13.3 full interior, with just sk2 itm, header, cai, exhaust,tb, and a tune on slicks and it made 211hp@7400rpm. so ya gsr's are fast. My civic blows my gtp away bad, So don't under estimate crx's,hatches, or just hondas in general

I never do under estimate for that reason. guys that know how to build em right can make them kill our cars (3800's).
and yeah K20 is a solid motor too. Only thing is there arent many built hondas here. a couple i know, my buddys being the fastest i think, but most just have a fart can and think there fast LOL.
I cant wait for the summer. rollin up to lights against people:P .
not to mention il get to race my bros 98 Mustang.
Il video tape that one and post it. hes doing some work to his 4.6 V8 and i have some work done to my GTP so . should be a close one.

the problem with this statement is that you can assume that 99% of hondas are just some punk kid with a loud muffler and an ebay intake.

therefore, ill assume everytime that when a honda rev's at me that ill blow its doors off with a bicycle. prove me wrong, yay. ill give you props. i know hondas can make power, but the problem is that no one is willing to spend the money on them. build the motor and put a turbo on that inline 4 and watch it take down vettes with ease.

Let's line them up.. lol your right a lot of hondas are just of punk F&F wannabe kids with a fart can, cai, and sohc vtec motor that might break into the 15's!!! and thats a might. there are quite a few fast hondas here. due to alternitive racing wich has a 7.81 second nhra hatch, and a bunch of other tuners around, so here in ok we have some fast ones!!! lol

I know a guy with a tt v6 mustang that run low 11's. I know of a couple 12 sec sunfires and cavaliers (hahn). Hell, I used to have a low 13 sec 420a turbo eclipse. You know how often you see a fairly quick 420a eclipse, hardly ever. And the odds are the same with just about evey civic or crx comparably. It's not so much that we under estimate them, as much as we just know what to expect. And anybody that knows jack about cars, knows that when you see a civic/crx roll up on you it's not exactly a 50-50 shot that it's going to a quick car.

IMO hondas are some of the most mod-able cars out there. Which is a big reason why I don't understand most honda guys. How they can spend 2k on a bunch of useless bolt on's, a body kit, and some rims, instead of a k or b series swap eludes me. Engine swaps are retarded easy, and the aftermarket is huge to say the least. There are just too many jdm wannabe's out there, that it's hard for the good one's to stick out. No disrespect to you moboost, most of us here know that what you have isn't your average hatch. I've seen first hand what a k20 hatch can do. You should just represent your car though, not somebody else's 7 sec hatch, and certainly not the civic nation. Yes, a civic can be a beast, but so can a cavalier, when is the last time you heard someone say, "don't under estimate a cavalier"? So let people assume the next loud ass civic rolling up on them isn't worth waisting gas on. And if we get walked, I'll be the first to throw a big thumbs up and give much respect for doing something that MOST can't or won't do. And that's turning a civic into something thats worth taking down the track.

Besides, being the underdog is so much more fun then the other way around. Hater's gonna hate, don't worry bout them, just play the game.

if i liked any of the body styles that hondas/acuras/eclipses/etc. would come out with them i would debate buying one and building it. however, i just think they are ugly, tiny cars. the last gen of prelude caught my eye, but people still want outrageous money for them. ill stick to GM where it's cheap.
