I have to agree with.."who cares, it's a honda" Fact is they are cheap cars that don't belong in the racing world. yeah with enough money anything can have power. And no Honda's don't make good power, they make average power. Subaru makes good power for their size, and many other companies. Honda is average...good for getting to work, and around town. Considering how much money, boost, and weight loss those already small cars have to do in order to keep up with say my 98 F-150, let alone american muscle is kinda ridiculous.

who cares its a pontiac?? that goes both ways. subaru's also come boosted and really dont make that much power. the sti only puts 225 to the ground with 18 pounds of boost. pontiac is problew cheaper than honda. i worked in the plant were they make the transmission for hondas and they put ALOT of time and effert into what they do to make sure everything is perfect. the japaness are really smart and technical people....it all boils down to this tho yall say hondas suck and all this but never really have an excuse. you say there slow but the N/A 2.4 was hanging and pulling at the end on a 3.8 supercharged...they dont make good power?? its not all about numbers its about putting it to the ground and using it effectivly. i think you guys just need something to pick on and it makes yall feel better

Your right, I'm sorry. I realize this now after watching this video full of bad ass Honda's.

A classic!!! Ricer compilation - Video

Think I can sell my GTP for enough money to buy a Honda off of some high school kid and still have enough to buy a fart can and maybe a used body kit for I can drive a bad ass whip like this one?

V-Tak is were it's at yo, I mean, ****. I could even take the bottle out of my car and put it in my new Honda, but sell the lines, solenoids, and everything so that I can just buy some NOS stickers for the side of my car even though I have a NX bottle in the trunk, and maybe some spray paint for my rims too. I always wondered why my massively huge 3.8 engine had two extra plug wires on it when all you need is four cylinders and only two that aren't mis-firring to have a bad ass race car.

im not a real car person but i like all cars;domestics, jdm, euro, super cars, its what potential a car has and what work has been done to it,even if its shedding weight ,its what makes it faster.which can win u a race. just look at the Lotus concept.will i drive an import?maybe, it depends ,cuz im more into domestics for there raw power which can make up for weight .there are some imports i wouldn't mind pushin like the 3000gt vr4,350z,supra tt or Honda's s2000.just my 2 cents. ~DUECES~

My friend respects my cars and i like his car too. I would never buy one for me, but its just a different style. This is a argument that cant be won. Everyone has different tastes and styles. Hey some "ricers" are even taking our engines! There are plenty of RX7 that have LS1 in them, and yesterday i actually saw a mazda miata with a LS1, and how about Fiero's with our 3.8SC? Are they still Ricers? Im just saying that not all import owners are ricers, they are just like us. Trying to push their cars to its limits by modifying and adding parts and some of them can be quick. What about the new GTR? 3.8 with a twin turbo pushin 480 hp running 11's?

lol i had no plans on buyin a si but i test drove one at a honda dealership while i was tryin to get financed for a used blk 02 gtp w/65k(man that car was clean,my credit was so bad with $5,500 down on a $7,000 car i still couldn't get a loan,i was too mad, thats how i ended up with a gt). yea test drove it to see whats the craze about with these little vehicles.i really didn't understand why people were so crazy about em.it was boring.wonder why would they name it Sport Injected, its really nothin sporty about it.if they're gonna call it somethin like that they should at least make it faster u know.

No ****...When my 98 F-150 can walk them...there is really no point in getting one, except to save some money in gas. I always have honda guys coming up to me and saying..." that a GTP? I could take you" I just laugh and ask if they got any cash, cuz it's always the same car, different dude. Some CRX, or hatch, or SI thinking his itty turbo, or cold air makes torque. I understand the point of respect a car for what it is...I just don't see em except on tv, or at car shows and those are just trailer queens. Everywhere I've lived it's a million honda's and nothing to brag about. They just think cuz one guy made it happen with 20,000 bucks on a movie, that it's really easy for them on their 7.50 an hour pay check to do the same. And then I just smoke em with my 6,500 lb truck on 33" tires...HAHA

Straight form Wilkipedia... "The Si was redesigned for the 2006 model year along with all other Civic trims, bringing about significant changes since the previous generation. The new car comes with a 2.0 liter i-VTEC engine that produces 197 hp (147 kW) and 139 ft·lbf (188 N·m) of torque, while also including a 6-speed manual transmission ..... It is also the quickest Civic Si off the line, with a factory 0-60 of 6.7 seconds according to Honda"

Here are some specs I found on other sites such as wilkipedia and car and driver:

    06 Civic Si tested price $23,240; 0-60 6.7 sec.; 197hp @7800rpm, 139lbft @6200rpm and a HP to weight of 14.7 lbs/hp and 20.5 lbs/lbft

    04 Grand Prix GTP tested price $22,395; 0-60 6.6 sec.; 260hp@5200rpm, 280lbft@3600rpm and a HP to weight of 13.7 lbs/hp and 12.7 lbs/lbft

Added: These are a list of cars the 04 GTP was faster than even if it was a fraction of a sec.: BMW 325i, Volvo s60, Acura TSX, and Audi A4

Couldn't find good 1/4 mile times, but from the street I can say they are a several car lengths in the rear of my 2002 and all specs here are from the 2004+ model. Hope this gives some evidence and peace of mind for some.
