these engines die after 4 grand based on the cam and the exhaust.
Fix those and the power band moves higher.
An L36 dies completely after 4 grand and with headers pulls equally but you don't have as much low end grunt.... I'd very much describe that as a shift in the power band which is dictated by where you make torque.
Here's a friend mine's GTP from last year. He had headers, 3.4 pulley, pcm and intake. The LT1 was close to stock as far i know, maybe exhaust and that's it.
