You guys are so stuck on what "looks cool" you have a complete disregard for understanding sound theory or even application of knowledge. Forget about what his photo transpired in terms of asthetics. He put together a low level dipole array matched with his mid to create a near point source setup.
It's not hard to make something go boom and assume it's a good system. Playing accurate or tuning to a specific response curve isn't as easy as it looks. If you gave some idiot a bag full of **** and told'em it's gold when they've never seen either in their entire life...I'm sure they might be ecstatic. Same thing happens when you roll up with your "system". If they lived with shti their whole lives and had no clue...anything is better than nothing.
