So last night I'm heading to the store to pick up something for the little woman. As I'm cruising along in traffic this Mitsubishi 3000GT comes flying up beside me, passes me, then pulls in front of me to be in the front of my lane at the next stop light. I didn't catch to see if it was a VR-4 or not but judging from the way he was driving I was sure it was the turbo version and it was definately not stock. However, as the event would progress I was to find that his seat to stearing wheel interface needs an upgrade.

So as the light turns green he gets on it a bit. I decide why not see if I can keep up with this chap so I hammer the throttle. I can tell he sees me and gooses it a bit more but we are coming up to the freeway onramp that I need to get onto and, I'm assuming, that he's planning on getting onto. Now this ramp is one of those where you start out heading west and it loops down and to the right and around so you wind up pointing south. He gets into the turn and I figure he'll pull away from me here for sure as he's pushing it pretty hard. I decide to follow suit and see if I can keep up.

I brake late to let a good amount of weight shift to the front tires before I begin my turn in. Off brake and initiate the turn to let the tires use all their traction to turn the vehicle. They begin to squeel in protest as I apply throttle to keep the speed up. Soon they're all squeeling just on the verge of breaking loose...I'm getting every last bit of grip out of these things...and I'm GAINING on the 3000GT! I went from a bus and a half back to about a car and a half back gaining the whole time.

Well, Mr. 3000GT didn't care for that much and as he hits the bottom of the ramp he nails it. The turbos spool up and he's gone leaving me in the dust and doing his best impersination of a speck. Still, I was pretty happy with myself.

After all, it's not every day that you see a 3000GT get out handled by a 04 GMC Sierra extra cab full sized truck on 20"s

Of course the whole time I'm wishing the GP was up and running! I must be jonesing hard if I'm trying to race in the truck. LOL

I'll be honest, the way he took off at the bottom of the ramp he would have given my GTP a good run! Sucker was definately fast. I just wish I could have seen the look on his face when he was being ran down by a big azz truck! And people wonder why I don't lift it and put off road tires on it...I drive it like a racecar, duh! LOL

And that was the idea Bio...Figured most people would assume I was talking about the GTP. She's still down but with the Koni's on it and the 17s she would have been humping that 3000's rear bumper down that ramp easily. Once in a straight line it would have been interesting though. That car was definately not stock.

That would be the heat exchanger for an IC yes...but the core I had decided to do it's impersination of Niagra Falls into my LIC a couple years back. So with the Whipple the IC core needs a bit different design than with a standard M90 Style IC. I have a forum member on here building me a custom IC core that will work with the Whipple setup and not leak. That's what I'm waiting on.
