I think you missed what Josh was saying totally.

Any mod that adds any sort of power is going to hurt you if you don't even know how to launch the car on a stock pulley or whatever your running.

I understand that. Ive wanted to go turbo for a while and decided to just slam one up front instead of doing the sts setup.

I was also at the track sat nite and I made a 15.1 pass 1/4mile and 9.7 in the 8th with a 2.1 60 foot... and my mods are just intake, 180 Tstat and maintaince all done to the car and the rest bone stock so im hoping to go for low 13's or 12's when i put the mods in... so you must be having some kind of problems with your mods...

are you running on the gt block?? does it have any tuning??

a better 60 will get you to the low 9s. good tune should get you in the 8s.

Yea im on an l36 block, no tune. Im sure it was the slow launch that hurt me. Idk, seemed like it hooked hard, slight slippage but it just has crappy accleration. I was much faster on the 3.4 but i ran the risk of blowin a cylinder.

Headers HELP a launch more than anything. With manifolds these cars have so much low end TQ. they blow the tires off and losing a little low end with the headers makes for a BETTER launch than with Mani's.

There are also a few settings on stock pcm's that will pull timing or fuel in order to protect the engine/tranny under heavy acceleration. But stock cars have pulled off 2.1 60fts before... The key to any good time slip is your 60 ft. Be happy with 2.0 on street tires and about 1.7 with slicks...

Yea oh well... till i get a tune. I know with my DHP pcm this car was a hella lot faster in every way. Unfortunately it was the reason my motor blew the two times and i got rid of it. I need a custom tune but its gonna have to wait till after turbo.

DHP Blowing motors? Since when...maybe because it wasn't designed for a high comp. motor?

    thats probably why.

your car is never gonna be fast without a tune. sebrings said it was crazy how much tuning he had to do with his topswap. its probably knocking a good bit.

did you net have a powrtuner???

Yea its because i have an l36 block i know that much. I made a thread on this a while ago and it was determined that the dhp tune added wot timing, putting it over the edge with the extreme heat of the m90 to begin with. I didnt have headers or ported blower then either though.

No i dont have a tuner, need da cash.

Yea the latest core features inlet/outlet on passenger side, customer request as its eaiser to route coolant lines away from the belt area. Features fully functional stock pcv with machined notch in lim, pretty much the standard nowadays. Its also getting a new look, as people have called it "ugly". lol
