I have a friend with a completely stock 06 gp gt s/c and he says that he can beat me, think my gtp could take him with the mods listed below? I heard that the newer ones have more power than the older ones like mine.
05 gtp- k&n open cone, intense tune, cat delete
    99 gtp- sold
97 chevy 2500 diesel- heath turbo master, custom cai, 4" straight exhaust
    70 chevy c10- 6.0 swapped, still a project

he has the gen v s/c, both of you are pretty much stock. My vote is your friend wins. Iridiums suck, get coppers. Imo that drop in filter is doing more harm than good, get a real intake.

depends on the condition of your car. i dont think the newer supercharged series 3s have that much power than l67s my boyfriend friend has an 06 gt se and he thought he had me lol and he got left lol, my car is stock just have a fwi and res delete. his car has 25k miles on it, my car has over 100k and is due for some attention far as maintenance goes

Doubt it. L32's have 260hp and 280ft.lbs. rated from the factory vs. the 240 & 280 from our cars. But who knows.

looks like the l32 vs l67 is how the nissan vq35de is to the vq37de same trq but different hp(not compairing the cid). but since our cars have learning transmissions and all what if that person grandmas that 06 alot and the 98 gtp drives his like he stole it a lot? wouldnt that have a small effect? and i dont see the power on the l32 being any better than a l67 i think their the same to be honest, now modded the gen v should wake up and take pulleys better but i hate the fact the series 3 doesnt have a better fuel pump/return or even adjustable regulator. and im speaking from several test drives i had in the newer gps thats why i bought a 2000 (its a coupe and color is perfect for me) just seemed to be faster.

The GenV is still a more effiecient blower anyway you slice it. Plus, there is no U-Bend in the '04+ cars. I'd take a newer motor over a old one anyway if I had the money. And the GenIII blowers on the '97-'03 take pulley swaps better...not the new ones...the new ones you can make as much power if not more with a bigger pulley. Plus in the newer ones you have to have way more supporting mods to drop a pulley size.

For the Nissan motors. No way.

yep! For me to do the basic 3.4 I need a cam and headers! IMO the Gen5 is better SC then the Gen3...stock for stock I think the Gen5 would pull from a older gtp. But with you haveing mods I would think you would pull away from him not by much..but I think you would take him. Also isnt the 04+ lighter?

1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix: 3,396 lbs.

2004-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix: 3,583 lbs.

That is just what I came to the conclusion with after looking at about 20 different sites...but most sites were within 5-10 lbs. of THOSE^^ weights...

drivers race for sure. Few hundred pounds more with 20 hp more should make it a good race. I say just race and see what happens. If its a comp G then it wouldn't be the same race, better gears, paddle shifts, and I believe a better tune from the factory.

Driver's Race? They are auto's. It just depends on who jumps the 3rd honk. And Comp G or not I still think that the newer GP is gonna pull. Paddle Shifters really don't help you shift any faster IMO...you can just pick when you do...and they ain't tuned any differently...me too...video tape a race so I can shut up

just raced about an hour ago, first we did it from a 20 kick I pulled him about a half of a car till around 90ish when I let off, then from a dig I launched bad he pulled got about a length and I slowly reeled him in till we let off, then we kicked it from a 40 kick and I pulled again. Told him that at least he got beat by another grand prix

i didnt say the g35 would beat the g37 lol, and the genv does except smaller pulleys better than gen iiis thats why everybody takes their gen iii off and put a genv on.

and im glad you won, like i said im not really modded and i took down an 06 gt/se. but the sad part is im a girl and i im not all that when it comes to launching. and i raced a g35 (which i thought was faster) and did him the same way except i spu tires all the way thru 1st and still had him,i guess my car is a factory freak lol.
