Those 5.0's are junk. It'll be a good race IMO but I think you'd take em. I've seen most stock/bolt-on (I/H/E) 5.0 Fox's not break out of 14's...its when they start doing builds is when you need to think about backing off

I'd get rid of the U-Bend, and put a lower temp T-stat in it and it'll run a BUNCH better too

Wow. Stock they are in the 14's, although the 94+ are heavier than the Fox bodies. I am assuming by I/H/E you are referring to intake, heads, exhaust, although the usually "upgrading" of a 5.0 involves a cam...but if they go through all of that and are not below 14's, they fail as a driver. My 2-ton car with the stock 5.0L with a grand into H/C/I is in the 13's, and a Fox-body with the same engine and a solid foundation would be in the 12's.

To be fair, the same amount I put into the 5.0 could be put into the GTP and come out just as fast or faster, but I feel calling the 5.0 junk is a little absurd.

By I/H/E I meant Intake, Header, and Exhaust. They are a good platform to mod, hell if I had the money I'd buy one and build it. I'm just commenting on if you don't really break into the motor (such as heads/cam/bottom end) they aren't that great and everyone that I have seen around here (KC) could not break out of 14's and the fastest stock cam/head/bottom end 5.0 Fox I saw threw down low 13's on the bottle and DR's. Hope I didn't hit a soft spot with you just saying my opinion about them...
