runs were at cecil county dragway
ran last friday's street grudge match as well as 2 weeks ago with a buddy in his 01 stang gt with a cai, flowmaster mufflers, 3.73 gears and who knows what mods(he bought it like that). last friday i ran a new pb but couldnt get traction enough to get a sub 2.0 60' as the track guys only sprayed a quick spray of sticky stuff(not vht trackbite) only in the state prep. i ran consistant 13.10-13.18s trapping 106mph. this was with the 2.9" pulley and only 30% meth(-20*F washer fluid) with 18-20* of timing shifting at 6000RPMs(commanded is 5950) with blips of knock.

    ran against a 05+ mustang gt, me-13.106@106.5 him-13.6@104.2
    ran against a turbo 2000-2001 hyundai tiburon, me-13.39@104.3 him-13.3@109.56
saw a g8 gt run on factory tires and he only had a cai and no-res and was running consistant 13.6s@103mph

i got no vids of them but i do have vids from 2 weeks ago with my buddy and a few other vids against other misc cars. the runs from 2 weeks ago i ran w/o my alky(pump died) so i was drowning my car running the 3.1" pulley. right now i a running ~70% meth with the 3.1" pulley running 20-21* of timing and commanded shifts at 6000RPMs, and plan to run that setup again this coming saturday at the track and will prolly run a bit more concentrated amount of meth and lean the afr out. right now my afr with the 70% meth is 10.2-10.3, does that sound right? if i run w/o the alky and lower the timing a bit it should be ~11.2-11.3 correct? anyways here are the vids:

    gtp vs 01 stang gt
gtp vs buddy in his stalled LS1
gtp vs unknown early 90s stang

and my buddy running a pb(1st time out running his car with his mods). i think thats impressive for a mild bolt-on stang and he cut a 1.9 60' in this run. he ran a 13.68@101
    01 stang gt vs truck

my buddy plans to install a pair of short headers and a x-pipe pretty soon. i wonder what he would run fter those mods?

is he going for sound or performance. X-pipes sound like poo on a 2V N/A car. they can get real raspy. i had a MAC O/R Prochaber on my 2004 Mustang GT and it sounded good. the Prochamber and a O/R h-pipe will give low end torque and the x-pipe will give upper rpm power.

just shorty headers and x-pipe he might run about a low 13.

wil as of right now hes in the 13.6 range and trapping 102mph. hes planning on installing bbk headers, i think shorties along with a x pipe with mil eliminators. the best he's had on the 60' were on street tires with a 1.92. hes averaging 2.0s currently.

damn hes getting it done off the line. a few more bolt-ons and a tune he might be going 12's.

the fastest 2v ive seen with bolt-ons went 12.7 at 106 or so with slicks and launching in the 5k rpm range. dont know what his 60's were

Keep it up, you'll get there. Out of curiosity, what is the elevation of your track and what were the temps?

320' huh? Nice. And perfect temps too. God what I wouldn't give for that instead of 1200' + and 100 degree days...

Well, all the videos I have are with the exhaust off so all you can hear is the growl of the exhaust. Sorry. I have a YouTube video of it (look up Wipple Grand Prix or Whippled GTP...something like that) and then she was on Pinks All Out for about 5 seconds at the end of the first season...the Vegas show. Again though all you hear is exhaust.

I can tell you this, an M90 whines but this Whipple HOWLS when the exhaust is on. I raced a buddy of mine in his highly modded Ion RedLine with the M62 Eaton. At WOT on the freeway, his blower whining, his radio on, and his windows up, he said he heard me hit the throttle and all he could hear above everything else was that Whipple's howl...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....even though I gave him a car and a half jump.

No...just...HELL No! LOL You run a 14 at your track, post it, and people ask you what's wrong with the car don't they? LOL

Though I tell you, the day I ran Pinks Vegas the track was 2200', the temp was 108, and I think the DA worked out to be something just over 5500'. LOL Might as well have been racing in Denver...

Thanks Blow and Vail...Yea she is a nice little sleeper. The announcer at Vegas was outright shocked when he saw the car ran that 12 flat. For the rest of the weekend whenever I came to the line he would say "Now keep an eye on that white Grand Prix...he's going to open some eyes this weekend..." Of course in the round that got on TV I raced a Hertz Ford Shelby Mustang GT-H so the TV guys were calling it "Pinks first Rental Car Showdown". LOL
