Looking to buy tires for my 17's over the winter and can't make up my mind on sizing or brands, looking for some opinions. They have 235/55's on them right now and I love the way they fill out the wheel wells. I'm would like to replace them with something a couple ticks wider though. I'm thinking 245/50's or 255/45's. I would like the width on the 255's but they are a touch short and I know it's going to take more work to clear them. I already had to roll the rear fenders for the 235's. It doesn't help that 255's are cheaper than 245's either. If I get the 245's I'm probably going with the general gmax's but I can get anything I want in the 255's... Any thoughts?

Well with no idea what you want for a kind of tire, its hard to say.

Personally I havent seen much of the G-max so no opinion there. So if it were me I would going with a conti DWS or the sport contact. Bridgestone and Michelins tires you are going to pay way more, like the potenza and A/S plus. And to me you never get your moneys worth because they wear so quickly and tend to get cupping issues with being directional. I'm sure if you drive it like sports car everyday that wear wont happen. They are other tires out there to choose from aswell, but it depends on what kind of tire you want.

    No.

    **** the DWS.

    Such a major let down.

They are not even half the tire people make them out to be.

    A/S + is much better.

Has anyone on here run 255/45's on 17" bullitts? I don't want to buy tires and find out they don't clear the spring plate on the strut or something!

From what I can tell my bullitts should have +30mm offset but my 235's were close to my struts already and rubbed in the back so I'm nervous about going wider.
