So its time for some new rubber, I live in WA where is rains a lot. I am in Real Estate so I drive a ton, and I mean a ton like average 2k a month just for work. So I want some handling and life. I was thinking OEM as I know most times the OEM tires on decent wheels are typically good tires but im open to suggestions?

    Stockers/Goodyear
    Goodyear Eagle RS-A

    Pirelli
Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season

    Firestone
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval AS (W-Speed Rated)

I put nothing but Michelin Pilot Powers on all my motorcycles and dont mind sticking with that brand but ive heard mixed reviews here
    Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

I'm running Contis DW similar to what BMW put on the M3s. You can look at the reviews on Tirerack. I think they're great for a summer tire. I hear the DWS is good too.

No goodyears, a 260 tread rating????? LOL, They will be gone in 20k miles.

Personally I would get something that can be rotated on all 4 corners to help with tire life and wear. No directionals.

Conti DW and DWS are great tires.

Those P nero's are good for the price.

Michelins A/S plus are too much money IMO for what your needs are.

I would try and stay away from a super high performance tire with how much you are driving, they will wear down very fast and you'll be looking at tires very soon.

Ok thanks for the input, im just waiting for my replacement wheel that my wife curbed up pretty bad. So Ultra High Performance" is not gonna suit me well? I do drive a ton and I guess if I had reorganize the priority list it would go like this...

    Life
    Handling
    road noise

Ill check out the Contis and see what comes up!

So we are thinkin these right?
    Continental ExtremeContact DWS

I do drive in adverse weather conditions and very rarely in some snow. Also I wasnt sure about the dimensions. I miss the stock tire height for gas mileage but like how much these fill out my well. I would mind a more low pro look but im assuming its best to stay with stock dimensions for the wheels right

So I need the skinny on these tires this is what Les Schwab is trying to sell me, 1085.00 out the door seems kinda pricey and I cant get any specs any insight on these would be sweet thanks

Buy tires online for alot cheaper, then take them somewhere to get mounted and balanced. It should be loads cheaper than $1100 bucks.

A/S + will be kinda the opposite order of what you have listed there.

How much traction you ask from the tire will play a large role in how long they last.

Tires that last a long time generally suck at everything but becoming hockey pucks.

Well ive been running numbers and after shipping and mounting costs they seem to even out. The costco near my home will set me up with Michelin*Pilot Sport A/S Plus for 1006.50 out the door. Cant seem to complain about that price. The only thing cheaper that ive found is the Conti DWS but thats at Walmart, and well id rather drive on bald tires then go there for any of my automotive needs.

matt5112, what im hearing is that I can not have both performance and longevity correct? If this is the case, Id take the Pilots, it seems like every time I mention them to tire dealers they have nothing but good things to say. And today called Discount Tire, Les Schwab, and Costco.

If you jump into the tire review thread, theres a guy whos used those and some MXM4's.

The A/S have better wet traction, the MXM4's have better dry traction.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/offic...ead-62191.html

I wouldn't touch that firestone tire, my vote goes to the pirelli or the michelin.

If the Michelin is the least expensive option, go for it.

I also drive a lot of miles each month in my truck and the above response is exactly what I do to extend the life of my tires. New rubber has certainly gotten expensive these days.........

Before your set on ANY tires check out the Bridgestone RE970AS I've had mine on for a few weeks now and I couldn't be happier with a tire purchase. $992 out the door and they gave me a free Wii this things won't break loose on wet pavement... and if they are saying the new 970s are better then the previous version 960s I expect even better snow performance.

A few winters ago in my old 04 gtp I had the 960s on the front. I drove through the worst blizzard of the season here in Michigan ...I'm talking several feet of snow on undriven roads and it plowed through like it was nothing.

    Here are my 245/45 18s

I read review after review knowing I was going to pay about $1k/set for one of the best tires available. In the end my past experience, price and current impression (just after a few hundres miles) completely agrees with what reviews I've read.
