A 245/50/17 would be the ideal size on a 17 but if you don't mind being a little off on the speedo you CAN.
Tire size calculator
^^^What I use to compare sizes
so wouldnt the speedo being off rape my trans? i was more asking along the lines of if that tire would fit the rim
wont the shift points be off if the speeds off?
they could be 6.5 though
without tire roll?
^^^^^^^ it is
stock rims off an 06 GT2
then yeah, it'll fit fine.
however, you'll have a little less turn in response on hard corners because the tire will need to roll before the contact patch actually grips the road and turns the car. this is only because the wheels are only 6.5" wide.
any reason you cant run a 225 wide tire?
well my friend just bought some Bullitt rims for his winter car and they have some good 245/45ZR17 summer tires on them so hed just give them to me if i wanted them
thanks i wont run them, ill look for some cheap 225s or new rims lol
