Any thoughts on them or recommendation on something better for the money?
My mom just got 2 mastercraft for the G6, they are a little bit louader, but good overall.

I would personally recommend Continental DWS, because they are tire rack's highest rated all seasons.

For a Ultra Hi Performance all season, the Conti DWS are several notches lower in steering response and cornering stability than the Michelin and Bridgestones below it on the Tirerack list. That doesn't cut it as top of the list in my book.
For my 05 GT with KYB GR2 struts, I found the Michelin Primacy MXV4 grand touring tires a great match. A bit pricey though. Also, not enough performance for the GTP.

I bought a set of four Michelin Tires PRIMACY MXV4 225/60R16 98H...Tires received excellent reviews in Consumer Report. I also read reviews on TireRack.com where most folks really liked them...Performs well in both dry and wet conditions.

I just put Bridgestone Turenza Serenity's on my GP and they are AMAZING!!! Super smooth ride, high tread life, asymmetrical design. They do great on dry and wet roads and throw rain like no ones business. I guess I will find out about snow here eventually. They arent however the cheapest option out there. They are considered ultra high performance grand touring tires. Acura TL's and other cars of the like come stock with them.

Gotta put my vote out for General Tire Altimax HP's. Just got a set installed on the GP and I'm loving them so far. Quiet as I've ever heard a tire to be and from what I've experienced so far the traction can't be beat. I've even tried to get them to slide on wet roads (i.e. really hard braking on wet roads) and I haven't got them to slide yet. Really great tire in my opinion, and I got them for right at $100 and change per tire installed.

I'm not that stupid, I don't try to get them to slide on corners...I've tried it on empty roads from like 35, I'm not stupid enough to try it at 60. I'd expect almost any tire to slide at 60 MPH on wet roads.

not for an 18 either. you should have a 50 series on there, not 40. your tire is too short meaning you dont have to roll the bead before the tread catches.

50 series didn't fit in the front fenders, and rubbed severely in the rear.
