My polished wheels are peeling off. Is it possible to paint polished wheels?

you can take paint thinner and remove all of the factory clear from your wheels with a soft rag. (keeps from scratching them) If you want to just paint over the clear then make sure they are very clean to scuff with a red scotch brite pad. once all is scuffed clean them with soap and water real good and let them dry. then paint away.
Any autoparts store. paint thinner will work fine and it wont destroy everything it touches. you can get scotchbrite there too.
ok. Im thinking to paint them a gum metal gray. Is there any body who can photo crop this on a pre gen wheel?
im not going to do black, and white is just wrone. Give me some color sugestions. i know its what i want but i want to hear from other people.
wait. u said white is wrong? wtf u smoking, 96 white grand prixes DID come factory with a white wheel set.
purple is not my color. Im thinking gun metal. I cant think of any other color to go with.
If you have polished pregen wheels, then why not sell them off to someone that will appreciate them for what they are - they're VERY hard to come by. Then buy a painted set and just paint those. Do what you want, I guess - they're your wheels, but it just seems like a waste to paint over polished wheels. They'll bring more $ than the painted set you replace them with, so you'll not lose $ in the deal.
